More sounds for train stations. Work in progress

Preparing my set 裏 Yamanote in this dream studio at @jingumaebonobo Tokyo. I am making one song for each station of the Yamanote line. Trying to capture a Japan-inspired sound.

I am now, for the first time, using a variety of AI tools to help me create the tracks. I will write about the process later. But basically, I am composing the first 30 seconds of the songs manually and then asking the AI to continue the compositions using text prompts like:

"Japan train sounds. Field recordings. Dolby Atmos. Production. Folktronica. Minimal classical. krautrock. tape loops. polyrhythms. swing. 808 groove. breaks. Eastern"

I've noticed it's quite fun to make dub inspired music with AI because the glitches sound like they are on purpose.

Last month I was in Copenhagen playing at Strom Festival & caught Surgeon playing a live modular set at God Goes Deep. He totally hypnotised the church with these droney, minimal, ice-cold tones, I fell asleep leaning against the wall and was roused by spooky dialogue some time later. The sense of space and timing was really powerful and i had that in mind when choosing music for this set.

Again, this is a mix of line out and microphone recordings, so you can get a feel for this amazing space.
