Switzerland’s Folkor Nation, born out of the Lausanne club Folkor, returns with its fourth release this December by Adolpho & Franky and Smash TV, entitled ‘Zapper’ and backed by a remix from Johannes Albert.

Since 2016 the Folklor club of Lausanne, Switzerland has been welcoming a wide array of DJ’s to grace it’s revered dance floor, just recently the likes of DJ Stingray, Session Victim, Tama Sumo and Charles Webster have passed through to perform. In 2020 the label launched its affiliated Folklor Nation imprint which has since unveiled material from the likes of Prins Thomas, Alinka, Lauer, Jonathan Kusuma, Zombies in Miami and of course the club residents Adolpho & Franky whose original material lies at the core of the label.

Here the duo return alongside their partner in crime Holger Zilske aka Smash TV who has released tracks on label such as Hypercolour, Mobilee, Get Physical, Bpitch Control, Selador and more. Once again the artists deliver their signature cosmic disco style as ‘Zapper’ journeys through pulsating sub bass tones, dropped- tempo drums, shimmering synth melodies and chanting vocal lines.

Germany’s Johannes Albert steps up on remix duties next, the Frank Music boss delivers a cinematic piano- driven twist on the original, laid out across six minutes with winding arpeggios, twinkling chord sequences and the fragments of the original composition.

As a DJ and promoter Rick Wilhite has been holding it down for over 20 years, and his 'Vibes - New & Rare music' record store has been a main source in Detroit for soulful electronic music until it's closure. The tracks selected for the 'Vibes New & Rare Music' compilation truly represent the artists, Wilhite says. After releasing Vibes 1 in 2010, he delivers the sequel, featuring pioneers and new talents alike from Detroit, Chicago and New York.

Valya Kan is a Berlin based artist, DJ and producer. She had an album 'Dust and Haze' on Spencer Parker's "Work Them Records", out in 2019. In 2020 she released a track 'Ice birds' on Seb Wildblood's all my thoughts vol.1 compilation. She has been self-releasing music digitally since 2020.

The long-awaited follow-up to their evergreen ‘For The Lovers’ EP in 2017, once again they not only tick every box but tickle every inch of your music-addicted soul. Easing us in gently with a little cosmic UKG, ‘Gwei Lo’ is a two-step teaser with all the magic we’ve come to know and love Black Loops for. Deeper again we rifle through the styles like 12”s in a dusty crate… ‘Unity’ keeps the garage theme but with much more of New York or New Jersey style vibe, especially in those epically thudding kicks. ‘Keep A Secret’ is just beautiful deepness with shades of Europe and the West Coast.
