For the 12 years Compost Disco (sub-)label anniversary we’re providing a massive package of 15 exclusive, previously unreleased tracks. A brilliant cocktail of disco-ish tunes by the likes of Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca, AN-2, Mark E, Ed Lee, Manuel Tur, Chocolate Garage Production, Velmondo, Ron Deacon and some other suspect alter egos. Destined for the sunset crew, for the hip shaking, for the gym, for those, who are open-minded about disco anyways, for more parties, last but not least for salvation.

The Vol. 1 starter package contains five brand new, unreleased, exclusive tracks, coupled with four best of Compost Disco catalogue tracks. All 15 new tracks will be available on vinyl 2xLP out in April 2022.
The variety ranges across the floor from boogie, italo, new wave, classic soulful, balearic, neo-disco, housey, downbeat, fusion, garage, to tech-disco. Tasty, hypnotizing and emotional.

Hailing from Liege in Belgium, David Body has been put on our radar with releases on the fine Endless Music — but this EP for Exploited’s Black Jukebox series looks set to propel him to a new level. 

‘I Bird You’ is a seriously charming affair, led by a colourful, sugary-sweet refrain that twinkles and sparkles in cute fashion. A warm deep house groove crafted through swirling Rhodes chords builds the vibe before the flowery melody explodes into life, pushing the track into an altogether more magical direction.

‘Jack Me Baby’ channels rubbery bass and a galloping house beat, with minor piano chords creating a dramatic feel as a classic vocal sample whoops away in delight. The enormous snare-rolled propelled build-up thrusts the track into overdrive, with a delightful, balmy synth line woven in to provide a mystical counterbalance. 

‘The Talking Mouettes’ is a supremely feel-good slab of Balearic-tinged house, with choice piano chords cut up and cascading over a high-energy groove. Big squelchy melodic bass wiggles under the chords and shoulder-popping chime riff, with plenty of power and punch scattered throughout to keep the vibes rolling.

‘Endless Love’ is an absolute monster to close the EP, a soaring, triumphant electro beauty that overflows with euphoric melody and ecstatic, eyes-closed-and-rolling tingles. It just keeps building and building through layer upon layer of synth mastery to an explosive, epic climax.

Along with everyone else, we are horrified by the current situation in Ukraine and the unfolding human tragedy. We feel that we have to do something, so have put together this fundraising compilation, 'Ukraine International'. 

There is a track from every country on Paper, reflecting the world's unity in such awful times. That includes Norway, Venezuela, Italy, Iceland, South Africa, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, New Zealand, France, UK, Tonga, USA, Japan and Mexico. 

The album will be only available for six months, with all profits from artists and Paper going to charities working in Ukraine and the developing refugee crisis.

Caju (cashew apple, in English) “is a light reddish to yellow fruit, whose pulp and juice can be processed into a sweet, astringent fruit drink or fermented and distilled into liquor”. Caju (SXDNS200/FREEDL016) is also the name of the hot Brazilian duo formed by Ágatha Prado aka Agrabah (SXDNS008) & Caio Schmitz. They land for the first time on the Rio de Janeiro-based imprint Underdogs Music as part of its forthcoming compilation called “Viralatas”, a groovy and spicy VA also featuring Bernardo Campos, Live Motel, Morgado, Icle, Leo Janeiro, and Seed Selector, a combination of seasoned artists and new faces on the block who delivered insightful themes in order to showcase the growing Brazilian Nu Disco scene.

The track we chose to premiere, “Piña Colada”, brings Ágatha & Caio once again flirting with Samba-infused percussive elements, something definitely and extremely characteristic in their sonority. If they were not DJs/producers, they would probably be part of an Escola de Samba or Bloco de Rua to parade during the carnival in the streets of Brazil while playing the pandeiro or the timbal. Undoubtedly, “Piña Colada” is one of the highlights of the compilation and carries an enormous potential to become a hit in the carioca Summer.

Welcome to another fine episode of SIRS aka »Sounds in real Stereo«! After last years' arrival on LARJ with his »Arrived EP«, Berlin based versatile DJ & producer Daniel Klein is back with »Travel To HDF.Y3D« - an utopian (or more likely dystopian) ode to space travel:

The last few remaining humans are traveling with 133bpm to the most distant galaxy in the universe on a mission to seek out a new space for mankind to live after many years of exploiting good old Mother Earth. What sounds like a horror scenario if you start thinking about it, SIRS manages to wrap up in quite a positive musical message. Thus »Travel To HDF.Y3D« becomes that hopeful uplifting slightly dreamy tune we all need these days - not unlike Christian Bruhn's theme of a certain Captain called Future back in 1980 …

It's also nice to have two more versions of such a strong tune at hand: The first one is a true first one for »Cocktail D'Amore« DJ BUDINO as she comes up with her first remix and production work ever. Budino's approach is a slightly darker, maybe indeed more dystopian one. The synthesizer bass lines dominate her remix and by getting rid of the original's playful melody she creates a very special melancholic feel. 

Leipzig based PANTHERA KRAUSE's take isn't quite that different from Budino's as he too focuses on the darker vibes of this journey in space. It's his added extra dose of punch that surely will keep dancers on the floor for sure.

The former »Space Ibiza« resident SIRS now takes over the controls again with »Summer Desire« which too is destined to rule dancefloors not only in Ibiza but all over the world with its lovely airy vibe.

»Travel To HDF.Y3D« returns for one last time in form of the spoken word prolog - a nice extra tool to play with.

Yet for digital music lovers exclusively we have three more variations of »Travel To HDF.Y3D« on offer which are perfectly executed in totally different ways by RESIDENTES BALEARICOS, FREUDENTHAL and LARSE - you just need to hear 'em for yourself!
