Since its first outing in 2004, Matthew Dear’s AUDION
guise has predominantly acted as a darker, edgier
commentary to the pop-infused house concoctions to
be found under the producer’s birth name. A twisted
reflection of sorts, it contemplated electronic music
through the lens of grime-flecked techno and sinewy
funk - resulting in relentless floor-fillers like the aptly
named “Kisses”, “Just Fucking” or “Mouth To Mouth”.
Compared to the itchy momentum and carnal damp of
these freak classics, the sophisticated elegance of new
offering DEM HOWL is rather unexpected: chaperoned
by the emotionally charged timbre of TROELS
ABRAHAMSEN’s vocals - first introduced to Kompakt’s
vocabulary via Kölsch’s “All That Matters” -, this cut
steers away from the battle-scarred body music of yore
and towards the more introspective moments on the
dance floor - without sacrificing one iota of the
precisely engineered groove machinery that is Audion.
“This song was a product of the modern age we live in”,
says Matthew Dear about DEM HOWL’s genesis: ”I heard
a song with Troels singing on it and immediately fell in love
with his voice. I found him online and directly messaged
him about collaborating. He happily agreed and I sent him
the instrumental - he promptly came up with the lyrics and
melody and sent them back to me. A few days after that, I
had the song complete and ready to go. All in all, it took
about a week from the idea to a fully-fledged new piece of
music.” However, the straightforward production does not
keep the track from incubating his own mysteries - deeply
steeped in melancholia, it displays theurgic qualities and
seamlessly transitions from emotional to somatic urgency
without batting so much as an eyelash. Gripping remixes
come from Kompakt head MICHAEL MAYER and Dutch
maestro JORIS VOORN (digital only) who cater to the
enthusiasts of evocative bells and homeric synth pads -
beautiful mood pieces just as immersive and timeless as
the original.

After the positive reactions on "Diablo", Oliver and I naturally decided to dive into a follow-up (with a rather appropriate title)! Not sure why we chose Spanish names but we seemed to be onto a good thing so we decided to keep nurturing those creative instincts. We had quite a few ideas going back and forth with this one, hence the two-part approach to the final version. Conceptually and with the working title, we wanted to take a lighter approach to this one, creating something less sinister than "Diablo" and I think that we succeeded nicely, helping to eventually take things into our "Elements" series. I should also mention how excited we were to have a brilliant Gaiser mix for this! - Dubfire

After a 9 month hiatus, Diynamic Music returns with the 12th edition of its famed “Four To The Floor” EPs. The label’s very own various artist series, which is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world. 

Opening the record is “Monster” by Matthew Dear, his personal ode to the kickdrum. His eldritch voice almost turns into a haunting spiritual ceremony by singing eerie chants and entrancing phrases.
Up next is “Reaktor” by ELAX, an artist you have never heard from before, because it is a new moniker of Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize. This hypnotizing anthem would be the best possible soundtrack for the worst possible nuclear meltdown.
The third track comes from Denis Horvat and is called “Madness Of Many”, a gloomy melodic Techno track for those late hours at the club. 
Closing off the 12th instalment of “Four To The Floor” are Animal Picnic & Novakk with “Khokana”. Their contribution to the record is a driving and dreamy Deep House tune, certain to provide for closed eyes and raised hands on dancefloors everywhere.

Pig&Dan possess one of the finest pedigrees in techno and are faithful contributors to Drumcode, dropping their most recent EP – the excellent ‘Infinity’ – in February. ‘Promised’ marks their maiden release on DC’s little brother imprint and has a heart-breaking story behind its creation as Dan explains: "whilst enfolded in sadness we started to write a record dedicated to the loss of my son due to a terrible road accident. The vocal says it all ‘you promised you would live forever’ symbolising that your child will usually outlive you as the parent.”

The track’s lilting organ line makes a haunting accompaniment to the vocal, while tender synths and deep grooves ensure it’s a beautiful, timeless tribute. Egypt’s Raxon, who first debuted on Truesoul in 2017 with the ‘Heliopolis’ EP, delivers a tougher peak-time rework.
