Francis Inferno Orchestra is Griffin James, a young and talented DJ and music producer from Melbourne. He released various 12"s on labels like Let's Play House, Wolf Music and FINA to name just a few. We believe that he could become a major player of this scene as his musical skillz and his sounds impressed us.

On this 12" he shows us two different sides of his output. The soulful „Amber Express“ could be an hommage to Moodymann's excellent work, similar to "You're The One" whereas "Dreamtime" and "Dusty Echoes" refer more to the Dub and Techno influenced corner of dance music. We were simply overwhelmed by this tracks and the reactions we had, playing them out was great.

Anyway, listen and decide yourself, we hope you enjoy it too.

The Blaxploited Orchestra is the latest project from Spanish producer Simon Garcia (Poker Flat, Pets, Supplement Facts), strongly influenced by classic funk, soul, disco labels such as Capitol or Motown, nu-soul labels like Daptone, Differ-Ant or Truth & Soul, and of course timeless electronica imprints like Sonar Kollektiv and others.
His first release, 'Realize' (Slow Town, 2012), including remixes from Detroit legend Norm Talley, French finest S3A and Rhythm & Soul, was the beginning of what's going to be an occasionally series of records strictly released in 12''. Next to follow, 'The Prusuit EP' (Compost Disco, 2013), comes out with 4 tracks ranging from nu-funk to jazz to soul, including a stellar remix by Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt from Permanent Vacation fame.

On the occasion of the sixth Record Store Day in April, Sonar Kollektiv releases for the first time a limited 300 copy special edition in celebration of the day, the vinyl and the record store. And it wouldn't be Sonar Kollektiv wouldn't we be treated with a very special goodie: 
The new shooting stars and new signings of the label,  Paskal & Urban Absolutes took a classic out of the extensive repertoire of the label to task, “That Night“ by Jazzanova from 2001. 

As usual with a remix by  Paskal & Urban Absolutes the vocals of the track are not short-changed after the revision. With a voice like the one of Vikter Duplaix you can't do wrong anyway. On the other hand,  Alexander Kastner and Adrian Hoffmann built such a safe bet of a 2013 sounding deephouse cracker that you get subsequently a dub version of it on the flipside. You can call it a win-win situation for everybody. Hopefully especially for the Record Store Day 2013 though!
