Carribean, jazz, afro, reggae the full spectrum of world music sophisticated and ingenious fused with electronica. A08 is the brainchild of the two Berliners Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad. Formerly known as "AFRICAINE 808" – the studio/live music project with an album and various EPs on NYC’s Golf Channel Recordings and Vulcandance.

AFRICAINE 808 started as an experiment where the two succeeded in the amalgamation of rhythmic world music heritage with the zeitgeist and aesthetics of electronic dance music.
After ten successful years touring the globe as a live music project, a praised double album, 5 EPs and remix work for legends like Tony Allen, Amadou & Mariam among many others, the two decided to re-invent their sound for a new album, exploring Jazz and Caribbean music among their "classic" working genres of electronic world dance music.
For the production, A08 included an illustrious crowd of guests into the band line-up, featuring artists from Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Trinidad and Germany.
The outcome is "Waiting for Zion", a double album that will be released on Compost Records in winter 2023.
As a live P.A. A08 are performing either as a Soundsystem with Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad playing live and DJing, or as a live act with live percussion.

After his „Private Dancer“ on Diynamic’s „Four To The Floor 26“, German DJ and producer Basti Grub returns to the label with his first full four-tracker titled „I Want To Party With You EP“
Opening track „Sondans“ features Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau’s playful voice over a worldly beat with Amapiano/Latin influences.
„Elis“ featuring HOTDISC is a high-paced dance floor workout for the peak time, while their collaboration „I Want To Party With You“ that additionally includes the hypnotic vocals of Dizzy Monroe is a deeper affair.
And closing off the record is the mellow „Robotooo“ that gives off sunset vibes on a warm beach in your nearest paradise

Life On Planets takes orbit back into the Rules Don't Apply solar system with the groovy & tail-wagging "Bow Wow".

On "Bow Wow", LOP breaks down why he's the best and proves it with his ability to form wavy constellations on the dancefloor.
A floaty bass line tumbles & descends with earth-moving inertia while slivered plucks & ethereal synths breathe life into the tracks atmosphere.
However, the star component of the track is LOP's gleaming & memorable guitar solo- he makes it bark like "Bow! Wow!".

A wonderful song with a heartwarming hook. Jimi Tenor and Tomasz Guiddo at their best. With three delightful feel-good remixes by the shining light, Erobique, Freestyle Man and Ale Castro.
Erobique, who recently had chart hits in middle Europe and was a member of International Pony with DJ Koze back in the days. He also wrote fantastic musical scores for the "Tatortreiniger" TV series (with Bjarne Mädel) and celebrated sold-out live shows all over Germany and Austria. Freestyle Man, perhaps better known as Sasse from Moodmusic, is recognized for delivering many excellent deep house gems. Ale Castro from Argentina also contributes to the top-notch remixes with a DJ-friendly house version.
Last but not least, the legendary Austrian crooner Louie Austen works his magic with his voice on "Smile," conjuring a smile on our faces.

Here comes the first of three remix packages for A08’s “Waiting For Zion” album.
The peruvian maestros Dengue Dengue Dengue! present a highly energetic broken beat rework of “Nineoneone” with a tropical twist. 
Nerk, musician and co-founder of Berlin’s supergroup Toktok delivers a brilliantly crafted uptempo electro dub version of „Yamahaica". 

Dengue Dengue Dengue! is a musical duo of electronic music from Peru established in Lima, made up of Rafael Pereira and Felipe Salmon. The highly contagious duo have brought a new level of tropical madness to the cumbia world, fusing modern production savvy with traditional rhythms. Their early tracks caught the ears of bloggers and DJs around the world but it wasn’t until their 2012 debut album, La Alianza Profana, that they really received worldwide recognition. Together with the Auxiliar Collective, they have cornered the market in neon tropical bass exports.

Nerk, aka Benjamin Weiss, a member of the legendary Berlin rave act Tok Tok has a long, extensive history in the techno community. As well as a writer for formerly leading German music magazine De:Bug, he has a long recording history collaborating with Dirk Leyers on Kompakt, Klang, V-Records and many remixes to his credit.

Michael Reinboth’s first ever release under his real name. After early Beanfield productions, circa 20 remixes (some old ones labelled simply Compost Remixes), more than 30 compilations and 30+ years of running Compost, a few 12”s under alter egos, the Compost boss decides to liberate the alias and mystic.
“Let The Spirit” is a kinetic cover version of a house classic, released way back in time on Ron Trent’s legendary Prescription imprint. It has no samples, everything is self-programmed and produced in team play with Jan Krause (Beanfield). The flipside brings us the trippy “RS6 Avant” which comes in two versions. The Cosmic Version is a invite to float over the Landstraße (or the dancefloor with eyes closed in the late night hours). And as Michael loves to drive fast too, he decided to add the Club Version - a much more energetic take with which works a treat on peak time dancefloors (and the Autobahn of course).
