9AMish Sunday morning closing out the Saturday night party at the Disco Knights Cosmic Campout.  The crowd has dwindled a little from lack of sleep but the vibes have not.  Basically I just go in and get as cosmic as possible.

PONY is a fixture in the NYC downtown nightlife and art scene as a DJ and Artist. Born in Italy in 1986, he came to the city at age 17 to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Working alongside nightlife and entertainment legends, he soon became a staple to the city that never sleeps. His mixes and appearances are enjoyed from coast to coast and beyond, with mix streams in over 100 countries worldwide. His popularity in nightlife has brought him attention from many sides of the industry, such as being named one of HX Magazine's 'Top 9 people in nightlife under the age of 25 to watch in 2009', which featured him on the cover. He was also named one of Paper Magazines Beautiful People of 2009. His residency at Gild Hall Hotel was featured in the 2011 annual issue of 'Best of NY' by New York Magazine. DNA Magazine (Australia) called Pony 'NYCs Hottest DJ' in 2011. He has been nominated for numerous nightlife awards over the years.

In 2012 he started spinning for the Burning Man art collective Disorient. Later in 2012 he became resident DJ and a founding member of the event series 'I FEEL' with Carmel Productions. In 2014, they started another event 'Thank You for Being You' (#TY4BY), as well as an annual 'Playadise' getaway experience on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. In 2015 they launched the first annual 'I FEEL Summer Escape' festival in upstate New York. He is also resident DJ and co-creator of 'REsy + PONY' event series since 2014. From 2015 to 2017, he was co-creator and resident DJ for the event series 'Treetops'. In 2017 he started a new monthly event 'Outsiders'.

His experience has taken him from the downtown bars to the city's chicest hotel lounges, midtown mega clubs, warehouses in Brooklyn, and everywhere in between playing alongside the hottest DJs and producers in the underground scene. No matter the venue, his unique style and thoughtful selection is sure to take the dance floor on a magical journey of sound. Drawing from a diverse range of musical and visual art influences Pony combines a passion for music with a dynamic personality. He lives in Manhattan.

Paramnésie EP is the result of one year of experimental Techno. It was, at first, a unique 1-hour story track. It has been then divided into 4 chapters that try to deal with the doubts and questions of a human mind about time and eternity.
After a monotonous minimalist introduction, the effervescence is unleashed : the myriad of melodic variations that follows represents storms of questions, and the instability of our beliefs. Bridges ask. Kicks answer. Bridges propose. Kicks decide.
The last chapter ends with the positive chords of the story. A glimpse of hope. But the feeling stays ambivalent. And the very last chord is still a question, unresolved.
To finish this release, MAX TENROM takes his universe in the "Paramnésie III Remix". Keeps the energy of the synth and adds softness with a magical pad. Not to mention the arrival of a deep and fat bass, who gives another dimension to this track.

Second State, the Berlin-based label headed by techno duo Pan-Pot, is about to release their latest compilation titled ‘SUM 6’. 

Mixmag has the pleasure of premiering ‘Ridiculous’, the second track off the record produced by the buzzing talent Risa Taniguchi. This number brings a wiggly layer of analog playfulness, set just above some slapping dungeon lows. Risa's been bubbling out of Tokyo as of late and with this new track on Second State she's proving to be an artist to watch closely moving forward. Tip!

The ‘SUM 6’ compilation, which also includes tracks by Fabio Florido, Nick Curly, BEC and more, is set for release July 19.

In honor of Black Music Month I made a mix acknowledging the profound impact that Black Music has made on me, and on the world.  Some of my favorite influences are on this mix, from that Sweet Soul music, to Rocksteady, Roots and Ska, RnB, Hip Hop, Jazz.
