Oslo's Sommerfeldt returns to home label badabing diskos with another EP of terrific disco, house and dub cuts.

Sommerfeldt has been cooking up his own fresh Scandi-sounds for more than 10 years. He has landed on this label as a solo artist but also with the likes of Sigmund Floyd, while also releasing on labels including Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp, Beatservice and Paper Recordings. He has remixed artists such as Amp Fiddler and is a mainstay of the club scene in Oslo who always brings the party.

The dub version of ´Tell Me What To Do´ presents an intimate atmosphere with organic percussion and extra synth sparkle. The track has a warm, wavy bass line and balmy cosmic pads up top. Another timeless fusion of house and cosmic disco from Sommerfeldt.

'When it’s so nice, why not do it twice? The iconic John Beltran returns once again to Oath to exercise his passionate love affair with all things Balearic, and to say he expanded upon his 22’ EP with style is a severe understatement..

Based purely on his outputs over the years, there is little that seemingly John Beltran cannot do, and the results of his near 30 year long career are there for all to experience, taste and sample. His music simply speaks differently, touching upon the palette of emotions that make up the human experience, be it the tenderest of sensory affirmations through to the euphoric, emboldening sweeps that get the listener lost deep within themselves - in the most perfected way imaginable. Emerging from the spectrum of sounds that made up that oh so referenced decade of the 90s, Beltran stands tall amongst his peers in this sense, with his discography alluding to many differing spheres of influence, a testament to the age old adage of never standing still - there’s always room to grow, to experience, to nourish. From the sheer dance laden brilliance of Placid Angles, the experimental grooves of Nostalgic, the techno excellence of Indio, and the everything that permeates the music released under his own name, John Beltran continues to reset the goalposts, and we simply have to sit back and watch it all evolve right in front of us.

True to his broad reaching range of influences, Beltran’s passion for Jazz, Brazilian and Balearic music has shone through in numerous ways within his career. His early 2000s LP releases on Ubiquity and his work with Sol Set are prime examples of how to merge live percussive influences with gorgeous, emotive synth work and vocals, and clearly these ideals stuck with Beltran as he revitalised the Sol Set project for last year’s ‘Ola de Novo’ on All Good, alongside the magnificent ‘Para Viajeros’ EP. Both records showcased a majesty of instrumentation, a series of moods that are deeply evocative and pleasant to the ears in numerous levels. But there is never a sense of being lost within it all, as all the elements work tirelessly to create a perfected atmosphere of being, a cordial and highly tuned environment that feels so very believable. Its music you want to hold in your hands for the rest of your days, a vessel that transports to that idealised version of life where everything feels just right. 

'Serendipia’, Beltran’s new LP, carries forward the ideals of Sol Set and reignites the quietly evolving flames that were lit last year, and as an elaboration on his craft and its sound its really quite something. 

The rhythms are set to the rhythms of life, such as on the tracks ‘Taina’ and ‘Cachaca’, which focus on up tempo latin and jazz rhythms to get the pace set beautifully. 

As journeys go, there’s so much here to fall deep within, to be unravelled both within and out width the mind and body - to be honest, we come to expect nothing less from someone like John Beltran, who’s continual dips into the space between instrumentation and emotion conjure up records like no other. '

About Yuu Udagawa
Yuu Udagawa, a Tokyo-based DJ, producer, and sound artist. With a broad variety of inspiring sounds like rock, hip-hop, Latin jazz, techno and house having shaped her inimitable style over the years. It comes as no surprise that Yuu’s music is truly captivating. It is both uplifting and soothing; marked by an elegant sophistication that reflects her desire to find harmony according to Golden Mean theory.
Yuu has been serving crowds at clubs, festivals and fashion shows with her repertoire as a DJ and it was only natural that this creative energy found its way into making music, so prepare to be taken into the groove.
In 2022, she was featured on Manuel Tur’s “Dreamharmonicon (feat. Yuu Udagawa)” release on Compost Records. In 2023, Yuu released her debut EP “Forever” on Cyphon Recordings (UK).

Moozeic, a project created by Joici Borges and Manuella Wintrich in 2015 from Jaraguá Do Sul, Brazil, returns to the Mexican imprint Kyma Komplex to reveal their latest extended play, titled 'Continuum 6'. The EP features two amazing original mixes and is accompanied by four outstanding remixes by Cometran, Luca Lucena, Forest Louche & Lorran.

Moozeic is created with the aim of expressing experiences and knowledge lived by the duo through music. The exceptional introduction to this journey is 'Continuum 6'. The resounding synthesizers and percussion beat create an ancestral atmosphere that begins to elevate us to a higher state of mind, allowing us to connect with the source.

Once the connection is made, 'Pandora 9' starts with the mystical, astral synthesizers and organic elements that melt and suck you into the endless tunnel, showing us the story of our life, our memories, our moments. It's our creation that makes each one distinct and irreplaceable. Crafted from unique experiences, it becomes an unparalleled masterpiece.

Regarding the remix duties of 'Continuum 6', it starts with Cometran, offering a cut that is more chaotic and energetic, filled with electrifying sounds, a solid arp-bass line, glitchy percussions, and a booming drum. Its hypnotic and frenetic quality continues in the trance state. Next comes Luca Lucena with his version of 'Pandora 9', featuring a resonant synth pad, alarms, punchy kicks, and the eastern vocal. This evokes an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone decades with retro-futuristic and spatial touches, showcasing a versatile sound.

The final two remixes, made by Forest Louche & Lorran, are equally remarkable. The first is oriented towards the dancefloor, based on futuristic timbres, immersed in a tropical forest, with clear vocals, reverberating percussions, and blazing synths. Finally, the EP concludes with Lorran’s remix. It's playful and mysterious, resonant and hallucinating, with haunting vocals that feel like they're taking you deep inside.

One of Oslo´s most curious and forwardthinking house producers, Ivaylo, releases his new dubby deep house track ´Chill Bill´ on legendary Full Pupp, a label he himself is curating in collaboration with Prins Thomas. And Bill certainly have made a good friend in Thomas, as his remix of the track takes new directions in comfort house. Sonic landscapes, like a whale swimming south looking for someone to share a drink. The Prins Thomas acclaimed percussive and dubby disco touch, allthough without getting too dirty. Pure late summer bliss!

Joining up the ranks of Unreel with his maiden contribution, here comes Belgium-based on-the-rise producer, Rari. Scheduled for release on November 24, his debut EP for us, 'Dissolve', makes for the ideal port of entry into Rari's shape-shifting musical persona and the maze of in-fluences that innervates his productions; nimbly running the gamut from electronica to breaks, via ambient, kosmische and more prog techno-oriented digressions, it models its own alphabet at the fringes of euphorising dance music and support material for a thorough soul-searching sesh.

Attesting to Rari's trademark blending of soul-healing currents and doomed riptides, 'IFT' thrusts across the grain with panache and a sense of heart-rending honesty, slashing its way across multiple curtains of cascading arps and trance-informed synthlines to home it in.

Renowned electronic music producer John Tejada has put a shoegaze spin on Rari's track 'IFT' in a new remix. Combining Rari's synth work with Tejada's intricate production, the remix creates an immersive experience that is both introspective and danceable. 'IFT' marks the latest addition to Tejada's extensive discography, which includes over two decades of critically acclaimed releases.
