Born and raised in Wiesbaden, Jesse G is a berlin based Techno DJ.
She is part of the local Tresor DJ team and has a residency at RSO Berlin. In addition to her own showcase “What’s Cooking” on HÖR, she also co-hosts the radio show “necton” on Refuge Worldwide and works at the record store Hard Wax. Her current sound is a mix of metallic sounds, trippiness, grooves and diverse rhythms.

This beautiful twelfth episode of our Herbarium series was recorded by the gifted @janloup. We are particularly impressed by this one as it underlines our love for brave sound experiments combined intriguing grooves. This journey goes into so many different directions while it never loses it's thrilling and powerful attitude.
Jan Loup chose the Helichrysum as the topic for this mix. This plant never let's its leaves fall, it keeps them all year. Its name comes from the sun “Helios” ( greek) and “Chrysos”, gold. It likes to install itself in the cracks between rocks, in an environnement close to the sea. It is known to have great power of healing wounds and burns. In Homer's Odyssee myth, Princess Nausicaa rubs the injured body of Ulysse with Helichrysum and saves him from death. The secret of her beauty resided in the daily usage of this plant as a youth elixir.
Despite this story, the plant is called immortal because even when cut, it keeps its shape, blossom and color. All the myths and the recent observation of her incredible properties make the Helichrysum mysterious and powerful. Resistant, resilient, curing.

Natural consequence is a key phrase for Brussels-born DJ @kimkenis. 
Raised by a drummer, it’s no coincidence that she easily stays in time as she strings together gems from along the genre spectrum. Known and loved as someone who pretty much can’t stop dancing once she starts, it was only a matter of time before she channeled this endurance behind the decks.

Whether sending stargazers into the ether with her ambient selections or getting hearts and bass thumping on the dancefloor with her minimalistic techno sets, Kim brings a bewitching tenderness to her DJ-ing that quickly caught the attention of the Belgian scene.

With the tenacity of a historian deep in an archive, she’s had a near-prolific output of thoughtful, studied radio mixes since 2019 (Refuge Worldwide FM, WAV, Radio Sofa) and an interesting club & festival schedule (Waking Life, Horst Arts & Music, Paradise City, Listen! Festival, Funke, …).

Local Eora/ Sydney talent Charley Fester aka Command D (@commandd) for number #141. Having only been producing music for a couple of years, Charley burst onto the scene with an inspiring ray of enthusiasm, skill & output, with releases on outputs @purespacefm, @companionmelb & @minimal_collective.

The talented producer & dj has quickly marked his signature sound, dubby & smooth as silk, oozing a specific warmth and groove which listeners can quickly recognise as Command D. Keep an eye out for a forthcoming release by Charley out on Animalia, due out very soon :) He's also working on a debut live set which he'll showcase over the Australian summer.

My next guest on Yax Invites is BMBMND.

BMBMND is an Italian artist based in Amsterdam and is presenting to you a telluric texture of hypnotic and techno sounds that form a repetitive groove of low frequencies and a samba of high frequencies. The Dub-Ambient influences lead the listener to the melancholic sounds of the past which will also be those of the future.

BMBMND is a project born in 2015 from the mind of Andrea Domeniconi. Growing up between two Italian cities, Bologna and Rimini, Andrea is currently based in Amsterdam.

Being influenced by trance and dub-techno, nowadays Acid and ambient Andrea manages to show his melancholic yet meditative side as a blend of atmospheric, grinding rhythms and perfectly positioned harmonies, which together form his unconscious.

BMBMND's music is an harness of telluric currents that flow deep under an hypnotic pulse, creating a state of equilibrium between the club atmosphere and an inescapable and seductive sound. 

In Amsterdam, he operated as a contributor of the Norwegian platform - MONUMENT. In 2019, Andrea joined the family of Monument, a techno music blog based in Oslo. He was appointed as Social Media Contributor and Facebook Page Owner. In his time working with the Monument team, Andrea grew even more as part of the techno community. 

 "You are what you dance" This is the philosophy of BMBMND, an artist whose opinion strongly acknowledges that the lack of individuality is killing music's genuine value. 

In this frenetic era, individuals should treat social media's influence with caution in order no to lose the distinctiveness of their creative mind.

BIO:
Leader of the Biotechnology music platform and event series, promoting what is cosmic, psychedelic, organic and hypnotic in techno. Co-founder of the Densiflora platform, promoting house, techno and breakbeat with a deep or progressive character. 

His selection is best defined by the projects he is behind. In terms of techno-oriented version, he seeks to bridge the gap between a hipnotic, minimalist sound, motoric grooves and broken or tribal beats. In the more house-oriented version, he seeks a balance between deep depth and ecstatic atmospheres. 
Tranceiness is the common denominator of both musical versions, which allows them to be combined as required. He has performed at signature events such as Up to date festival, the Institute, Las Festival and Crescent London. He has shared the stage with artists such as DJ Nobu, Steffi, Edit Select, Valentino Mora, Alfred Czital, Shlomo, Justine Perry and Setaoc Mass.

Maze of communication torment

Javi Bora and Le Vinyl reignited their winning collaboration with this searing four-tracker on Steve Bug's Audiomatique label. Both hailed from Spain and were heavily influential in the notorious party capital of Ibiza – with Javi Bora as Kehakuma resident DJ at Spaze Ibiza – it was fair to say that both of these guys knew how to lay down tracks that worked crowds to the bone. Luckily, this release did all that and more.

'Momma’s Tale' was a slick, punchy and epic jam that somehow managed to keep its tension throughout the track, building into an unstoppably infectious groove.
Sacha D'Flame added soulful, classic-house-infused vocals to bring the whole thing to a floor-wrecking climax. Also included was a Dub Mix for DJs who preferred the more stripped down approach.

'Heart Roaring' was another main room bomb waiting to go off. Its swirling groove and sharp, funky programming was reminiscent of Detroit house masters such as Rick Wilhite and Norm Talley, and was sure to wreak serious damage when dropped at peak time.
