PD100 w/ Rootian - Vida y muerte. Carta a Coatlicue

Este PD100 está lleno de significado y gratitud a las raíces que he construido durante mis 10 años en México, década en esta tierra que ahora construye mi identidad más que ninguna otra. Aquí mudé mil pieles como Quetzalcóatl, di a luz a mis propixs hermanxs, muchxs de la comunidad. Vi arder a mis demonios y me quedé limpiando con ellos las esquinas marchitas de mi habitación, mientras veía cómo se enterraban en el recuerdo. 

Hoy le escribo a Coatlicue, diosa de diosas, a Guadalupe, la diosa madre, símbolo de maternidad y fertilidad, transformación, muerte y renovación. Fuerza creadora, devoradora, signo de esfuerzo y trabajo, perseverancia y resistencia. Desde una perspectiva arquetípica es la fuerza que invita a confrontar nuestros procesos cíclicos internos, con espirales de encuentro, pertenencia, lucha, huida, pérdida, muerte y resignificación. Ciclos como los de Huitzilopochtli en su eterna lucha con la oscuridad, consiguiendo “darse a luz”, al sol y los días, para encontrarse a sí mismo en las noches estrelladas. 

Con este set quiero agradecer a todas las mujeres que me guiaron a ser quien soy hoy, capaz de afrontar la muerte y el dolor, la pérdida y el olvido… donde todo proceso nace, trasciende y llega a su movimiento mortal con la impermanencia y el miedo en una cara y la confianza, fertilidad y renacimiento en la otra.

Esta carta es un ritual de cierre y gratitud a la dualidad como concepto central de la cosmovisión en las deidades de Mesoamérica, que me hizo caminar con la mirada al frente y la rodilla hincada a través del dolor y la trascendencia, la incongruencia y los contrastes que no han parado de resignificar mi camino, que me llenan de Luz tanto en el terreno personal, como en la experiencia colectiva. 

Camino con el amor a un país que me vió moverme muchas veces entre el hombre, compañero, camarada, profesional y humano vulnerable que soy hoy en día. Un proceso dual que no deja de sangrar, pero que a su vez ya empieza a cicatrizar. 

Hoy honro a todos los sueños que se quedaron en el camino y no alcanzaron el final de la historia.

Transmission  002 - DJ TOOL

For the next edition of the Transmissions mix series, it's a great pleasure to share a barnstorming session from DJ TOOL. Over 2.5 hrs, we have him doing what he does best, closing things out in the early hours to a packed room. A set full of psychedelic power, a set for the ages, records mixed with laser precision which shaped the room, the system and the moment.

This set was recorded by FOLD, mastered by Lisene at Area 52 and mixed by DJ TOOL.

Transmission 002 - DJ TOOL

It’s been a while since the last split EP on the label, but the wait is finally over: we present a striking combination of dry, functional modular techno and tech-infused dub cuts from none other than Berlin’s Endmodell and NYC’s Connor Wrong.
On the A-side, Endmodell delivers 0210, which wastes no time in setting the pace. A stomping techno rumbler with frantic synth shots and arpeggios, it just keeps rolling, leaving no one behind. His second track, 0704, is a breaky, melodic techno tool layered with mysterious vocals and searing noise FX. It floats forward effortlessly, providing the perfect transition to the more dub-driven B-side, where Connor Wrong’s tracks shine brightly.
Things kick off with Paws Up, creeping in with slightly dissonant chords before easing into a smooth, tech-dubby groove. Its already iconic “Put your Paws Up” vocal makes the track instantly memorable; a true roller that never loses its cool while keeping the groove alive. Closing the record is Pleroma Dub, the slowest and most heavyweight dub piece of the release. With jazzy melodies and a mesmerising low-end, it draws the EP to a deep and hypnotic close.
W133012 will be released on 10.10.2025 as a limited 25-copy vinyl edition alongside a digital version, accompanied by analogue photographic artwork by Philipp Roth.

Connor Wrong - Pleroma Dub

This weeks mix is from @d1rcceu an IsBurning and Amsterdam dancefloor favorite. 
Always delvering the best energy and dancemoves and also a super DJ! 

Dircceu is a Brazilian multi-artist and DJ based in Amsterdam, originally from São Paulo. He constructs his own narratives — blending techno, house, disco, breakbeats, and Afro-diasporic sounds with emotional depth, heritage, and futurism.

With this mix he showcases his diverse taste while blending it smoothly and takes you higher with infections melodies and grooves! 

Track highlight:

Paranoid London – Loving U (AAAA)
This track is part of a hypnotic, seductive tension groove that evokes the essence of classic acid house, with unpolished sounds and rebellious attitude. It's aesthetics are influenced by early Chicago acid. I chose it to represent the atmosphere I like to build: sensual, energetic, nostalgic and underground. It blends movements with immersive introspection, guiding the listener into a dancing journey state of mind.

RA.1000 launches with Theo Parrish, live at fabric: a vanishingly rare club mix from the king of deep crates and impossible transitions.

There are DJ sets and then there are Theo sets. No matter how many times you've caught him in action, every time still feels like the first. Running hot, levels smoking, isolator working over time. You think you know dance music? Think again.

Parrish's debut on the RA Podcast is a milestone for the series, one we've sought for over 15 years. So it was only right that Theo led off our 1000th celebrations. Recorded live at fabric last December as part of RA's party with the London club for their 25th anniversary, this three-hour segment documents the crescendo of his eight-hour marathon. 

The Detroit legend doesn't release mixes often, and when he does, they're usually studio recordings: think NTS shows, his 100% Detroit edition of DJ-Kicks or classic tapes Body (1997) and Methods of Movement (2000). A capture of the Sound Signature boss on the dancefloor is hard to come by.

Sure, there's galvanising build-ups and crowd-pleasers, but laced throughout a Parrish beatdown are rarities designed to shock the system. In a business dominated by marketing, the vinyl master towers above thanks to a relentless hunger for lustrous melodies, moods and textures of all stripes, which he and he alone can fold into an inspiring and exhilarating joyride.

On RA.1000, blissful reggae precedes new wave disco; '80s R&B morphs into synthy techno; bleepy Chicago jack makes way for a poignant vocal ballad. It's Theo through and through. Once again, he proves that anything and everything is possible with the right records.

SYN Premiere: Connor Wrong - Paws Up [W133012]

A rare mix from the critically acclaimed experimentalist.

Lucrecia Dalt isn't your typical electronic artist. The Colombian singer and composer approaches music-making in the way a fantasy writer builds worlds. Over the past two decades, she's produced a catalogue that reads more like a bookshelf of strange, interlinked novels, each with its own laws, characters and textures, extending the one before it.

Dalt's <i>RA Mix</i> is a fascinating entry into the series (and will sit comfortably with <i> RA's</i> recent archival playlist, <a href="https://1000.ra.co/playlists" target="_blank">Mixes From Artists Who Don't Call Themselves DJs, But Probably Should</a>). Take the opening track, "Cellophane," by Beak>, the band led by Portishead's Geoff Barrow. The lyrics set the tone for the hour to come: "Now the wind has blown down / Now the truth is laid out there." 

True to Dalt's oeuvre, RA.1005 has little regard for convention. Kick drums and beatmatching are nowhere to be heard; instead, she offers a collage of inspiration, drawing connections across eras, moods and geographies. 

The mix includes the work of close collaborators (David Sylvian, Juana Molina and Niño de Elche) as well as excursions into psychedelic jazz (Lloyd's Miller's "Gol-E-Gandom"), sombre downtempo (Muslimgauze's "Enchante, Monsieur") and Korean pop (Leenalchi's "Magic Pocket). Spanning just over an hour, it unfolds like another chapter in Dalt's ongoing project of world-building through sound.
