Exclusive: Yard One - Disjoint

Volume four of Cinthie's infamous 803 Crystal Groove Collective Cuts is about to drop and contains four (deep) House tracks from four different artists. While Asquith, who provides Souls (Deep Mix) to the package, the fourth edition of 803 Crystal Groove Collective Cuts introduces listeners to three new acts, namely Manuold, UC Beatz and Yard One. The latter are UK producers Jordan Bruce and Larry Jones, while Jones hails from Manchester, Jordan is currently based in Den Haag. For their contribution to the V/A they readied Disjoint, a take that combines both: an inevitable groove and classy deep chord sequences. Both, the dynamic drum workout with gritty bass hits and the rather bright melodic synths create an overal intriguing piece of music that soaks the listener not only into his vibe but onto the floors to let oneself go and dwell in the beauty of this deeply hitting melody.

In September, Polymath's label head Third Son is landing on Pets Recordings' sub label STEP with his brand new 'Mimeo EP'.

The fresh imprint STEP (brainchild of Catz N' Dogz) is about to drop another record, this time coming from Third Son, the mind behind the Polymath label. This EP follows the previous successful records coming from Nørus, Das Komplex, Metropolitan Soul Museum and more. Third Son's 'Mimeo EP' is a collection of 4 analogue dancefloor oriented tracks, showcasing the artists predilection for using machines for crafting his on-point productions.

The EP starts with 'Kant Stop Philosophising', driven by a 4/4 groove and a cheeky synth melody alongside an hypnotic vocal sample. The second track, 'Find Yourself a Cato', is a deeper and more Techno oriented cut, in which perfectly programmed percussion loops merge with trippy synth-lines. The title track is another killer cut, guided by a rumbling, rough and ready bass line. The record closes with 'Everybody Hertz', a timeless Detroit-inspired groovy track.

Tension sees FNP take his production skills out of his comfort zone, exploring the harder elements of electronic music while maintaining the 80’s cosmic influence. Speaking on the new single, FNP states :
Tension really was just a melodic idea that was born from playing around with some analogue gear. The lead synth was created and from there the whole thing came together really nicely! I wanted to have a bit of a throwback feel to it so I used amen break samples to create the drums which I feel worked a treat.
