Connie discovered at a young age that there is nothing more magical than music.  Brought up by an opera singer father and school teacher mother, her childhood was spent dedicated to study, not being allowed to leave the house besides to go to school.  Connie found music as an escape from this mundane home life and a refuge from the crazy streets of New York City in the 70s and 80s.  Oftentimes, she would listen to the radio in her bedroom closet late into the night, dreaming of a glamor-filled lifestyle of going on tour with her favorite musicians, the likes of Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, and New Order.
 
After life as a punk rock drummer, Connie’s journey into becoming a DJ stemmed from her love to club dance.  Flash forward 2001 on a trip to Ibiza (incidentally, this trip happened in the midst of the 9/11 tragedy!), Connie was blown away by the power of music bringing dancers together.    Since then, Connie has chosen to dedicate her life to just this…. a music purveyor to the masses, uniting people worldwide through music and dance.  This is her biggest pleasure!  And her DJ career began.
 
For the next decade or so, Connie has been a major contributor to NYC’s underground electronic scene.  Co-founding NYC’s top brand RESOLUTE and being the original resident for nearly 15 years; mentoring and sharing the art of DJing to dozens of students; producing electronic music under the “Constar” moniker as well as Connie Yin, with releases available digitally and on vinyl, under labels such as Bedrock Records; and being heavily involved in NYC’s live music scene as a drummer, bass player, songwriter and producer in various projects, has given Connie’s career longevity and she is always evolving.  Touring the world from Brazil to Dubai confirms her love for the worldwide techno family, and she is grateful to know that this is the community where she belongs.
 
Connie’s music taste is a culmination of all her life experiences, all of them special in it’s own right.  Like her hometown of NYC – smooth, real, unpretentious, intelligent, tough, with lots of attitude- she is drawn to music that reflects these qualities.  She sees beauty in dissonance and the unconventional .  Above all else, she loves music that makes you dance - that brings real raw emotion and expression, that touches deep into one’s soul and moves you .  With a playful and deep fluid mix of forward thinking 4/4 styles and a defined rhythmic sensibility that flows from her alter egos as a rock drummer and bass player, Connie is a steady crowd favorite and an accomplished pro who always brings the goods.  Join her as she continues to share the soundtrack of her life through the universal language of mankind.

A true student of electronic music, Amba’s experience dates back to the UK house and techno days of the early 2000s. Her sets filled with energetic, funky, and familiar sounds bring you that nostalgic feeling of the best days of House music. While based in Brooklyn, NY, Amba’s consistent travels at an early age to clubs around the world, including London, Ibiza, Colombia, and Berlin, influence her music today and bring light to everyone on the dancefloor.

In a short time, she’s already made an imprint at home in NYC as a resident of BKH Records, playing TBA and Superior Ingredients to name a few.. Around the US in Miami, Texas, Pennsylvania and internationally at villa parties in Mexico, Ibiza, and Colombia and Costa Rica! Keep ya eyes peeled for more to come!

New York City native, Connie Yin, joins forces with Zoo Project’s Norwegian resident Karina Chaczbabian for the C&K project.

Raised worlds apart, Connie (New York City) and Karina (Norway) have one thing in common, their passion for and dedication to electronic music. 

Connie and Karina’s musical influence roots in their family tree. Connie’s father was an opera singer and sparked her interest in music by playing classical records on the family owned belt-drive turntable. Karina is the offspring of classical violinists curated by David Oistrakh. 

All love stories commence somewhere. This tale began on an island far, far away where the beaches are pretty and dancing is all night under the stars, Ibiza. A spur of the moment trip to the island in 2001 was what influenced Connie to dig deeper and soul search her way to the turntables. Karina, a veteran in the Ibiza scene, first stepped foot on the island in 1999 and called it home for over 15 years. It was inevitable for them to cross paths and on a sunny Saturday afternoon back in 2012, they met at Ibizas most famous open air, The Zoo Project, and a bond was formed.

Connie and Karina’s experience in shaking dance floors established their names in the dance music community. Connie is a respected figure in the New York City underground scene and the original resident at NYC’s notorious underground party, Resolute. Karina, a vinyl only DJ, is on the Zoo Project residents roster and has been touring the world for over a decade. 

In 2018, they introduced their new collaboration - C&K! Connie and Karina come together as connoisseurs bound to bring a breath of fresh air to the underground electronic music scene. Their diverse and extensive music collection correlates Detroit techno, minimal and classic house.
