Bringing the likes of DJ Nobu, Peter Van Hoesen, and Marco Shuttle to Sydney (to name a few), Innerspace is an event series focused on pushing the hypnotic techno sound and creating an immersive, introspective dancefloor experience.

Ahead of their joint b2b event with Construct next week, we invited Josh Hoffman & Aidan Alexander to take the reins for Constructions 054 - a 2-hour voyage to sonic terrains unknown.

Innerspace | Constructions Podcast 054

Horkheimer is a Frankfurt-based DJ and producer known to dive deep into dub, aquatic techno and spaced-out electronica. As A/R for the Live at Robert Johnson label alongside Ata, his sonic landscape is as broad as enigmatic - a perfect meeting of minds for Arch.

Horkheimer’s selection blurs the boundaries between down-tempo techno and electronica, scanning the far reaches of Balearic spin-out vibes with an alternative twist. Often mysterious, at times deeply melancholic, and almost always drenched in smoky dub aesthetics!

Congratulations to @heartheartrecords for 20 years of perseverance and dedication to his craft. Few come close to challenging the boundless confines of techno with such creative integrity.

This was my set to get the crowd nice and limber before DemoDc took them on a 3hr sonic journey of 100% self made music. The party was a huge success but many could not make it, so enjoy the next 2 hours from me, recorded at the event.

Innerspace x Dunj: Josh Hoshman b2b Bloom

Olivia has been intrinsically linked wit the Polish electronic music scene for almost 15 years. Maybe most famously, she is a resident DJ at Unsound, but next to that she also runs her own Radar night at  celebrated Krakow club Szpitalna 1—where she is also chief booker—and DJs as one half of Chrono Bross. Both technically excellent and well versed in the history of house and techno, she mixes liquid acid with cosmic melodies, Detroit futurism with Dutch rawness and is someone fascinated by the paranormal, the infinity of space and the potential of robotics. All this informed her full bodied and psychedelic debut release on K-Hole Trax, and the mix she has put together for us. 

There is a dystopian air to start with, where fizzing synths and malfunctioning machines make for uncomfortable listening before jerking rhythms tinged with elements of electro and EBM being to make you move. Unsettling and abstract throughout, it’s a dark mix for strobe lit dance floors that is industrial and dehumanised, but one that is never less than compelling.
