Leeo Johnson (Leo The Great) began writing music at the age of 12 before laying his first verse on wax 7 years later alongside his long time collaboration partners Christopher Grimes (Ele Siete) & Tony Oliver (Domain). With countless mixtapes, songs and freestyles under their belts, the unofficial trio of emcees strive to dominate the Underground scene in Tampa, FL. Having dropped the mic for an on and off hiatus of sorts, Leo The Great hopes to return to his roots this year with new freestyles, covers, original songs and an EP. Recalling the sound of Hip Hop’s glory days from Tupac Shakur and Nas, St.Louis rapper/singer “Ricki G” born Ricki Glass has grown to be one of our favorite midwest MC’s. In May 2017, Ricki G released his studio debut album “All of Me”, which broke into our Rap/Hip Hop charts independently. His release was deemed as a underground success with rave reviews & positive feedback from many critics. This young man delivers a style of strong story telling, eschews melodic hooks, motivated lyricism & one of the best at capturing emotion with his voice; he calls his style (Conscious Trap). Ricki G grew up listening to artist like 50 Cent, Jay Z & Nelly & started writing raps at the age of 13. He subsequently lost his focus in music by dropping out of school & turning to the street life until 2016 where he started working on the album “All of Me” inspired by these events. The same year he released a 2nd album “TRAPANESE” a darker album with gritty street stories & 808’s from a slew of producers. He is also the founder of the music label known as “Lonewulf Records”. The name was inspired by his ability to work alone without any co-signs or investors. The young artist Ricki G has gained attention over the years from his active role during the “FERGUSON” protest as a public figure, his online presence from humerous antics & mostly his heart felt music. He plans to release more material in 2019 & push the culture forward
