Swedish Boot Mafia consists of Copycat, Divide & Kreate, and Nachoman, and is our little side project for playing around with all things Swedish - and more.

Here's the second installment in our Swedish Boot Mafia series.

The second artist to get the Swedish Boot Mafia treatment is Erik Hassle.

Erik Hassle popped up from nowhere, laying his hands on the runner-up position in the Metro Music Challenge in 2008. That rendered him a deal with Roxy Recordings, which subsequently was transformed into an international deal with Island Records and Universal Republic. His "Hurtful" gained him a lot of fans immediately. And after the Guardian hyped him - well, the rest is kinda history.

In February 2010, "Hurtful" was re-released in a slightly altered version worldwide, including the UK. The Swedish Boot Mafia still wasn't to happy with it and decided to give it the onceover.

Here’s a little slow electro/nu disco-ish remix I did for my good friends over at Emerald & Doreen. This time it is for The Boy & Sister Alma - a new synth-pop duo from Helena, Montana - and their brilliant ”Lizard eyes”.

The Boy & Sister Alma are a new synth-pop duo from Helena, Montana. Their amazing debut EP was just released recently and has been well received by the international press. 

As Emerald & Doreen were early fans, both decided to cooperate to get TBSA's magical, romantic, haunting Italo Disco-style debut single "Lizard Eyes" processed by some 80s-loving NuDisco and New Wave artists. They all made their very own and beautiful versions as a hommage to the original: 

Copycat convinces with a funky'n fluffy electro pop version, Aux Tha Masterfader's remix turns it into a good old 80s Italo Disco song as if Valerie Dore were back, Statickman lets it rock hard just like its spaced out underground proto-techno from 1984.

Dead Sea Captains beam it into the future with a very intelligent and dramatic set of breakbeats and sampled sounds while keeping the electro-pop feel perfectly in place and Jam Couché lets us all wave our arms in the air with an amazingly catchy 90s House version so that we can dance away the heartaches we got from all that nostalgia.

Ukrainian psychill producer Zymosis is renowned for his ethereal and melodic take on psychedelic downtempo music. In light of the tragic news of your passing, I won’t disrespect you nor the public at large by posting that very version. Some things just should be kept private; I am sure you agree. Instead, here’s my arrangement/instrumental of it—with your voice on top.
