This is a brilliant twist on the theme for the week. It’s like being inside a haunted Victorian mansion!

This is very eerie, a perfect soundtrack for a movie scene in which the horror is felt but never really seen. Great!

A wonderfully creepy atmosphere with a good dash of humour!

it's a first draft of the piece certainly worth investigating the sonic possibilities it offers. 
the synth always behaves differently in re-proposing the sequence, depending on the envelope phase in which it is found, I am fascinated by it, I have been looking for a sound like this for a long time.
I find it very meditative, so much so that it reminded me of seeing the splendid paintings of the painter Aldo Mondino, more than twenty years ago, in an exhibition at Villa delle Rose in Bologna. 
I immediately fell in love with those fantastic paintings.

Disquiet Junto Project 0680: Reverse Resolution
The Assignment: Finish something (musical) you started last year.

I remember when I started this one year ago I was sitting in a train and in love with Abletons "Operator" FM synth and a mutating sequence on loop. There was no bass at all, because I had bad simple earphones and in the train I was only able to hear the high bells.

Honestly, everytime I listened to it, I thought "This is enough, you don't need more, I like it how it is.", but at the same time I felt guilty, because it was very simple. That's why I never finished it.

To finish the track, I quickly added a bassdrumish sound with Puremagnetik Foomph and added some droney pads. Now I feel guilty again, really like a cheater, because it is still very simple, but now it's finished and I like it.

Paulo Chagas initiated this trio piece with his wind instrument part. Henry Koek added many sound textures in addition to his voice, I finished with percussion and my MaaTeeSaa1 sounds.

This piece continues the shamanist inspired tone of the album.

The event Bosun refers to is the eruption of Mount Asama in 1783, which instantly killed over 1,000 people. The toxic ash traveled 100 miles to Edo, making farmland useless and causing many more people to starve.
One of the four great haiku masters, Yosa Buson studied both Japanese and Chinese poetry. He was also an accomplished painter, and most of his poems were accompanied by paintings, resulting in a more diverse and individual set of works than the one by his main historical influence, Basho.

Arii Shokyu-Ni was a haiku poetess during the Edo period who began a wandering life after running away from her husband at 29 with the haiku poet Kohaku. Just like Matsuo Basho, "the Nun Shokyu" traveled to the Deep North of Japan.

The 688th Disquiet Junto prompt invited us to consider a common road sign and interpret it as a musical instruction. There's a sign in the alley behind my house that reads

SLOW 
CHILDREN
AT PLAY

So, my response. The instrumentation is simple, just four layers: my favorite grumbly piano, a juicy analog synth bass, an eerie motion pad, and a custom feedback patch on the Sculpture physical modeling synth. The percussion is a hand clap performance that I recorded for the piece. But I am most proud of the vocals: they are not synthetic, they are not samples, they are an organic vocal performance that has been heavily processed.

I really enjoyed doing the research for this piece, digging into the origin of children's rhyming, clapping, and jumprope games. 

I learned that Miss Mary Mack was a performer in a Black-owned circus and tent show that toured the American South in the 1880s. I discovered the "Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Ay" connection between Lizzie Borden and The Cat Came Back: the Lizzie Borden rhyme was often sung to the tune of "Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Ay", a popular vaudeville song; and according to one variation of the cat chant, the seemingly indestructible cat is finally done in when he hears an organ grinder playing "Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Ay" and drops flat dead.

Fair warning, I went full-on creepy for this one.
