Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

When I wrote “If I Was No More” I was in a really dark place, and it was a painful one to write. It’s not easy to talk about that headspace where everything got so heavy that part of me craved to no longer be there to bear it. It’s a scary thought, one that comes with a lot of guilt and shame. Out of all the songs on the album this one is the one that feels the hardest to share, even now, from the other side. But it’s also one of the best songs I have ever written and it’s an important one to share. With this one music does what it does best - express those things that words alone can’t carry.

Ciara says: “Woman is an exploration of the beauty and complexities of being a Woman in modern society. Looking at myself, my own female relatives and those Women in history who have lived lives in the shadows, it’s about having a desire for more, not feeling the need to conform to expectations placed on us, and allowing ourselves to be visible and speak our truths.”

From its popping bass intro, Patriot Parade builds until you think it can’t build any more - then goes even harder. It’s an anti-racist protest song, satirising populist demagogues and their followers. Recorded in London UK, the sound mashes punk, grunge and Britpop; think QOTSA meets Blur. The single is part of a debut album launch, backed by live shows, PR agency support, and a digital marketing campaign.

Corey Bowen is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and bedroom-producer from Middlesbrough, UK.

Working as a songwriter and solo artist since the age of 16, Bowen began playing live following an invitation to tour with Christopher Owens (formerly of Girls fame). The tour was then followed up with live appearances at T In The Park and Green Man festivals, further touring within the UK, industry backing from the likes of Universal and Sony, airplay from Annie Mac and Huw Stephens and positive reviews from outlets such as The Line Of Best Fit, DIY Mag and Boys by Girls.

Following a 4-year period touring and working as a performer, Bowen took a back seat to focus on ghostwriting for other artists and producing music for TV.

In 2022 Corey decided to start releasing his own songs again, forming writing duo Modern Rodeo with long-time collaborator and close friend Charlie Glazebrook, whilst resuming his work as a solo-artist in parallel.
