Lately, been feeling isolated.
Outside, was masking like I've made it.
Inside, was hurting and deflated,
hating myself for the mess that I've created.

Fuckedupness cannot be overstated.
Got laid off, became dark and jaded,
anxious, depressed, angry and frustrated.
All contributing to my mentality;
bipolar, borderline personality.
Which often tends to distort my reality,
veiling myself from what is actuality.
But this time I need to be stable.
Prove to everyone that I'm able
so I can take a seat back at my table
and generate a happy ending to this fable.

This is a song that originated with Sean's very catchy guitar riff based acoustic guitar, which he sent to Ken (K2 and the Three and K2 and the Four). Ken added solid drums and sent it along to me. I added the bass, electric guitar, horns, electric piano, organ, and synth. I really like working on this kind of song, wherein it starts with a very strong element, like a riff or a melody, and I get some real, perfectly laid drums to go along with it. That's about as much fun as I can have, folks. Then, we sent it over to Tez (Llanpsych), who was able to make sense of my many layers, which never ceases to amaze me, and come up with an excellent mix. I really appreciate the very talented Sean Smith for sharing his music with us, my dear friend Ken for including me in the project, and my other partner Tez for manning the mix and production. We hope you enjoy the result.

The Fall (Part I) - Cosmogonic Myth

I grew up in Santa Cruz, California, and in my late twenties I lived in a trailer park just five minutes' walk from the immense cliffs that rise directly from the Pacific shore. Though I was never a surfer, I'd wake at dawn and join them on my morning walks along the water. Nearly year-round, a thick fog blanketed the ocean at that hour. But in late summer and early fall there were always a few bright blue mornings when you could see clear to the horizon, and the sunrise lit up the clouds stretched across the sky in tones of rose and gold.
