The rising notes echoed amidst the summer field as the harp was plucked gracefully. Upon the breeze blew a hectic blur of wild grass and fragrant flowers, it was hard to take it all in. Sat beneath the tree she watched as the wild world embraced the sweet escape of summer, families walked whilst friends laughed beneath the glow of the mid morning sun. There was a special sense of elegance and grace which lingered amidst the fresh clean air. This was the time of year....

For its newest record, Public Release soars over the Atlantic and glides into Greece to convene with two brothers from Thessaloniki, Christos and Fotis Papadakis, for Cosmic Swimmer, a gentle, lilting sunbleached house escapade.

The 12-inch opens with their soft and cushy original mix of “Cosmic Swimmer”, a charmed layer cake of round, full-bodied hand drums, airy pads, and washed-out vocal harmonies. A breezy, wide-open endless groove that ambles along at a not-too-slow, not-too-fast Goldilocks pace that will easily keep you undulating on the floor or in your head. Another pair of brothers, the Soulwax boys, making a very rare, celebrated appearance here, take the reigns and fill out the arrangement by wrapping it all up in some stone-cathedral euphoric resonance and injecting it with their trademark finger-plucked bass struts. One of their top remixes ever? Perhaps.

The hot potato is then passed to New York City’s Kim Ann Foxman for her take, a more urgent and pressed affair that swaps the organic elements for jittery programmed percussion, strobed effects, and brittle synth licks, all the while somehow keeping the dusting of Balearic feel-good presence intact. Finally, Eric “Dr. Dunks” Duncan jumps into the frame with a tough love acid- flecked interpretation that thrusts the record into peak-hour rave territories.

For the digital edition, a bonus is offered, a peppy, saucy Hi-NRG piano number that has echoes of late-80s New Order. A carefree, cheeky encore that caps off the party with a bolt of electricity.

Clandestino make their debut on Amsterdam's Night Noise imprint, flexing their dancefloor chops with four cuts aimed firmly at late-night manoeuvres.Lead track ‘Glide Theory’ is a drum heavy exercise, shifting bass and piercing arpeggios making for an edgy start, finally melodic pads and soft Rhodes keys drift in to relieve the tension resolving the track on a hopeful note. ‘Kinbirds’ stems the pace; but keeps the mood deep and atmospheric before an audacious break lifts everything into an ecstatic state with its swirling pads and disorienting synths. Mushrooms Project apply their trademark druggy, spaced out style to Glide Theory. Organic drum work weaves around a probing 303 line and deep chords let the soaring pads breathe. Forriner turn out a machine-funk heavy take of ‘Kindbirds’; slowing down the tempo and mangling the original parts with metallic drums and stabbing synths to give off a chugging Italo style feel.Night Noise Music deliver the goods once again with this superb offering from Clandestino.

Half of the dark synthwave duo THE HUNT ,Herbert West is a French electronic producer heavily influenced by 70’s and 80’s horror soundtracks. This artist tends to use vintage, analog and modular synths and It´s important to point out that he has released with the Hunt two albums through the well-known labels Giallo Disco (2014) and Bordello a Parigi (2018).
Vortice Mortale is his new project in which he mixes space disco and dark synth music.It is clear as water that Herbert West loves Italian horror movies and French disco music of the past decade considering that this work “Memento Mori” is perhaps a perfect combination of powerful beats, enigmatic passages and wicked catchy melodies.

Super Paolo is back on his @DiscoMilk label with a cosmic, electro-infused single entitled ‘In Your Shadow’ including a remix from Italian producer @Andy-Bros.

Super Paolo continues to embody his reputation of building tracks from scratch whilst harmonising everything together using a collection of live instruments. Paolo founded his Disco Milk imprint in 2006 and with every release he continues to explore into the realms of disco, electro, house and funk brought together under one roof previously supported by the likes of The Black Madonna, Justin Cudmore, Jacques Renault, Eclair Fifi and more. ‘In Your Shadow’ sees Paolo invite a remix from Italy’s Andy Bros which picked up plays from Adam Port, Solomun and Blackbox and Jamie Jones on Pete Tong’s History of House episode on BBC Radio 1

‘In Your Shadow’ begins with zappy synth shoots, revolving electro flavours and infectious vocals keeping eccentric energy flowing until Andy Bros who has previous releases on Diynamic, Chapter 23, FFRR and more rounds off the pack with a chuggy, italo-disco remix of ‘In Your Shadow’ laying focus on cosmic oscillations, otherworldly atmospheres and uplifting, swirling melodies peppered with undulating euphoria.

The Cosmic Era is a collaboration between Daniel Monaco (aka Daniele Labbate) and Ma Spaventi (aka Marco Antonio Spaventi) friends, fellow musicians and producers. The album is the result of their night jams at Spaventi's Mastering studio. Due to their musician nature the use of Analog Sequencers, Synths and Drummachines was integrated with big live components which can be heard in every single track. Obscure & Cosmic are the keywords to describe this album. The EP will be released on January the 10th on Emerald & Doreen.
