The original song by Manu Chao was one of my first musical discoveries and I still listen to it today. I wanted to give the lyrics a different emotional environment, thus completely revamping all the instrumental elements.

About Manu Chao
Manu Chao is a spanish-french composer and singer. Originally from Spain his grandfather was sentenced to death by the spanish franquist regime and his family then emigrated to Paris.

With friends and his brother Antoine Chao, he first founded the band Mano Negra. Breaking up in 1995 he then pursued a solo career. He won several world music awards.

Nasca is an electronic music composer & live performer based in Paris. With a strong South American influence, where he spent a large part of his life, he started creating music in 2007. He also co-organizes the Pic du Son festival (France).

Afrikaburn 2023….what another adventure that was. I played two sets. One at my beloved Space Cowboys and the second one at the Bridges For Music camp, called Ubuhlanti. Saturday night, a packed venue (yes, I would call it a venue) and an amazing African female artist playing before me, creating a high energy amongst the crowd. My turn….so much fun, so many happy faces, so much love to share. Being at AfrikaBurn is always one of my highlights of the year and this year was definitely not an exception to that. A collaboration of DJ Moonstein and DJ Chi (https://soundcloud.com/chidj), recorded live at a secret castle in Berkeley Hills, California, it's a playful meditation on what it means to be happy. In their attempt to do justice to this question (if not the answer), they went from melodic house to techno and back, with a nod to Latin music and a splash of funky beats that are hard to define but easy to fall in love with.

About this edit:
Ibrahim Ferrer is a legendary Salsa singer from Cuba. He was a member of the band Los Bocucos and was re-discovered after many years as part of the Cuban salsa supergroup Buena Vista Social Club. His voice and melodies are hauntingly beautiful and instantly recognizable. It was a pleasure paying tribute to his amazing legacy though this edit of his song “Silencio” recorded with the great Omara Portuondo.

About this track:
"Senza Paura" is a cover of the brazilian song "Sem Medo", originally written by Toquinho and Vinicio De Moraes. It was adapted in 1976 by Sergio Bardotti for the italian singer Ornella Vanoni who included it in the album "La voglia, la pazzia, l’incoscienza, l’allegria" recorded with Toquinho and Vinicio De Moraes.
The song is a tribute to brazilian music and in particular to Bossa Nova that Ornella Vanoni was able to interpret majestically with brio and saudade.
Our edit keeps the original bossa nova vibe but we added some flute and other funky elements to make it a perfect track for dancefloors.

About Chalanga:
Chalanga is an italian duo composed by DJ and producer Patrick Di Stefano and multi-instrumentalist Diego Grassedonio.
Analog synths, percussions, drum machines and loops on sax and flute are the ingredients mixed by Chalanga during their live performances and studio productions characterized by organic house, world music, electronic beats, afro-futuristic patterns, psychedelic visions, exotic percussions and the
shamanic presence of the saxophone. 
The first frequencies transmitted by Chalanga have been intercepted by the Shipibo tribes of the
Peruvian Amazon and by the Yakuts tribes of eastern Siberia.

About this song :
This song is set to a traditional Afro-Colombian Bullerengue rhythm and orchestrated in a very delicate way. An homage to disappearing trades killed by modernity. The lyrics were inspired by an encounter in 2005 in a former fishing town in northern Colombia, where Perditi met a fisherman weaving a net, worrying about the few fish left in the area. During the 2014 GKO tour in Colombia, Perditi went out looking for the fisherman but he was long gone, the town swallowed by history, transformed into a tourist paradise. Our own cosmo brother @ungunga decide to make a special edit dancefloor friendly.
