traverse is very honored to unveil Berlin-based artist Prieste5s’s first EP on traverse, « Enchantress ».

Her music made its way through various platforms and labels, from Pino Peña’s W133 to Kangding Ray’s ARA and has always had a special place in our ears. Prieste5s’s workflow and research for organic sounds, paired with the minimalism of her production, brings a new depth and drive to her music. From Willow to 10,000 Lux she depicts a powerful landscape full of percs and toms that will get to your mind and feet.

Through Enchantress Prieste5s showcases her love for bass, percussion and hypnotic sounds, building a deep atmosphere and minimalist groove throughout the four tracks.

« Thematically, I take a lot of influences from the natural world, geology, and spirituality. Having studied evolutionary biology previously, I have a fascination for all things relating to natural-history. And as a somewhat spiritual person, I also enjoy exploring through my music the idea of one’s personal connection to the earth. I really like to play with the juxtaposition of technology and nature, both in the process as well as the materials I use. For me, it’s a way of showing that we should still seek harmony with nature even amid the chaos of the modern world. I feel like a big theme in my music is the ephemerality of the natural world and how we as participants of that experience can find ways to connect in a magical, childlike sort of way. »

co:clear is overjoyed to welcome @jonnnah to its fold, with a new long-form 12” edition. Featuring Pavel Milyakov (aka @buttechno) right off the bat, ‘Me, With You’ is an album that grips its listener tight with gleaming electronica, off-kilter trip-hop and swampy bass.

With past offerings to Soleil Rouge and Second End Records – a label which he heads – there's a thread that laces all of Jonnnah’s work. Although never sticking to a definable bracket, the Lyon-dweller effortlessly floats through various tempers, peddling impeccable electronics as equally suited to colossal sound systems, as they are to solitary early morning walks in headphones. It's ambient for the foreground that surprises with flurries of two-step and amen breaks – present-day sonics that doff their cap to what’s come before.

Out on limited edition 12” vinyl & digital, 30th May 2025. Limited to 200 copies.

"Claustrophobic, disorienting, uncomfortable - ‘Only Time Will Tell’ consists of 3 of my latest attempts to push functional club tools as far into the realms of dissonance and abstraction as possible whilst retaining their inherent purpose as body-moving dancefloor tracks.

I’m drawn to sounds that are insistent, deliberate, futuristic and unorthodox. YUKU have always shared a similar vision, so it was little surprise when the label picked the very first 3 tracks I sent over in a large vault of demos - the exact 3 that I quietly hoped that they would take, in the exact order I felt would be most effective.

‘Inertia Of The Real’ has been the closing track for many of my sets over the past few months - unhinged electrical zaps appear out of nowhere and rain down over a sparse grime rhythm to catch the crowd off-guard and cause as much chaos as possible.

‘Plated Brass Recursion Mechanism’ continues the theme of frantic digital laser assault, but this time with a locked breakbeat groove and unyielding low-end snarl - more conventional beat patterns for electro and techno lovers, but weird and unpredcitable nonetheless.

Lastly, ‘Fool’s Errand’ dials back the intensity just a touch, with eerie pads and disembodied vocal chops cutting through machine-gun hihats and start-stop call and response in the low end.

My attitude to production has always been a rejection of the nostalgic rehashing of sounds from the 90s and 00s that has come to dominate the dance music landscape in the current decade. If there isn’t at least one sound in a track that’s surprising or new to my ears, I’m not interested. As a statement of intent, I hope that ‘Only Time Will Tell’ will bring something exciting to the listener in that respect. Endless love to YUKU and everyone who gives the release a spin - getting the chance to share my music on such a perfect label is really such an honour."
