Italian duos Nice7 & Dirty Channels join forces for the first time to deliver the acid induced ‘Feelings EP’ on Crosstown Rebels. 

The release features two exceptional originals with Toronto’s Nathan Barato bringing his signature heavy sounds into play for the remix. Nicola Daniele and Cesare Marocco aka Nice7 are amongst the latest Italian stars to emerge in dance music. Since 2005, the year in which the two of them paired up, they have released on labels like Noir Music, Get Physical, Remote Area, Suara, Defected and Gruuv.

Dirty Channels are Simone & Leme, who started working together in 2008 after long single DJ careers. Releases soon followed for big labels such as Josh Wink's Ovum, Hot Creations sub-label Hot Waves and Culprit LA as well as licenses on several Defected compilations.

Nathan Barato worked his way onto the world stage with releases on the likes of Cajual, Saved and Hot Creations. 2016 also saw him as resident for Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC10 in Ibiza. Here he delivers a punchy remix to dominate the dancefloor, centered around a hefty bassline, tight drum patterns and slick vocal cuts.

We’re deep in the dog days of Summer, so it’s only appropriate we turn up the heat with a bit of fire from our “Summer Funk” release, featuring four bangers from four different artists.

Lee Walker makes his debut on Dirtybird with “Rock Climber”, a ferocious track with build-ups and build-downs that make you feel like you’re on an unforgiving rollercoaster. Huge.

Weiss has been a favorite of ours the past year, and follows up his recent Dirtybird EP with “Bounce”. It does exactly what it says, with Weiss’ trademark mixture of jackin beats, underground boom and a bit of amusement.

Lord Leopard first appeared with Eats Everything in March on one of our biggest EPs of the year, and goes solo with “As Gospel”. The contagious lead line swirls in and out over a dark set of drums and bass that will certainly contribute to Lord’s rapid ascent as an artist to watch.

Bump Ugly’s “Lost My Mind” rounds out the EP with animated beats and bass that dance along with quirky bleeps and blips for a funky Summer ride.

-How long have you been creating music?

We have been making music together for 4 magical years :)

-What do you use to make your tracks?

Logic is our Weapon of Choice and we keep it stocked with a quiver of plugin-ins and keyboards.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

We were at a festival that seemed to only play dubstep. After wandering around for a while and pretty much ready to give up, we heard this indescribable sound… It was a tasty mix of bass filled funk with more perc surprises and twists than the Sixth Sense Movie. It Sounded like the way House Music should sound. Anyway, that was the first time we saw Justin Martin and we have been in Love with Dirty Bird ever since.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

Justin Martin, we’ve heard he has an Italian pizza oven in his new studio.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

Weekend at Bernies

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Holy Ship

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

We would go back in time to the moment right before Kanye took the mic away from Taylor Swift at the VMA’s and block that sh!t like LeBron James.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Terodactyl's, because we like to fly and were old as fuck. PS. We know it’s actually spelled “Pterodactyl”

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Family, Style, Culture, but most importantly… One Hell of Party!
