Saturday 25th of May I stood in a sunny field at The Church of Love were I played my last ever set at the amazing Shindig Festival.

This was recorded in one take before the weekend as practice so you guys could hear it how I played it. No post production, just one take. I tried to apply the mix of genres I love and am known for into one set. hip hop, mid tempo breaks, R&B, house, jackin house and breaks.

Sad its over but was honoured to be a part of the last one. This is my set from the Church of Love on the Friday evening!

This ones a proper party mix, lots of big garage tunes and bouncy breakbeat.

I wanted to do a special mix for the last ever shindig festival, I was lucky to be a part of it, principally to be booked on father funk's stage with all my friends from bristol. THX @FATHERFUNK and @TREMORsoundsystem !

the thematic: play that funky music ! it's a travel between bass music, groove music and hiphop famous, with a turntablist touch, and so much more!

This mix is sadly not recorded live (left turntable problem during the show) but it is a one shot mix, thx to @X-RAYTED to share me his turntables by the way !

LAST EVER SHINDIG - CHURCH OF LOVE 2024 MIX

The dust has finally settled after Shindig Festival 2024 and reality has returned. 
Leading up to the festival I spent most of my free time writing / producing and crafting this set of unheard music only to have the cruel fates of festivals decide that a power cut less then half way into my set was to end the hard work I had put in.

Gutted does not cover how I felt when it happened, but shit happens. All I could do was pack up and make way for the next DJ and hope that the power was restored for their set as the show must go on. 

No one was to blame, just a rubbish situation made worse as this was due to be my first real set IRL since before lockdown (yep, 4 odd years in the making). Alas it was not to be.

I've now recorded the whole set, as it was meant to be for your listening enjoyment. 

A little background to this set, it was part of the Global Funk Fam Takeover of the Ghetto Funk Nightclub at Shindig Festival. The sets were 20mins long to fit in all the DJs that came together from across the globe, hence this being more of a showcase set of some of the music I have coming out this year.

Due to the length of the sets I decided to go for a Cut n Paste inspired set of never heard before music from me for the first half, and then the second half was longer tracks.

During the my set the Kurnel MC was due to join me on stage to perform the final track with live vocals, for this recording I have use the acapella from the track.

Should you want the authentic, real life version of this... Stand in a muddy puddle, poor a watering can of water on your head and then stop the playback about 8mins in and you would be close to what it was like at the time (minus the tent of smiling happy folks that were enjoying the music until it stopped).

As a DJ, Crash, under various aliases, has DJed from New York to Ibiza and all over the UK, from Clubs to Pubs, Festivals to Special Events. Musically Crash combines Beats, Breaks, Funk, Bass music and more in his sets, drawing from new and classic music alike.
