Three small bones within the inner ear operate to transmit periodic air pressure changes. A passive stimulus-response mechanism, @mmechanoreceptor traverses amongst multiple dimensions, synthesising the vast array of phenomena. While input is multi-sensory, the auditory instantiations constitute the output encoded by Mechanoreceptor. Spectral Decomposition recounts various entities/observations from the Aviary upon delicate analysis of the spectral properties that compose such observations - here, oceans, gemstones, and the great Electrophorus Electricus (otherwise known as the Electric Eel).

A peer-reviewed EP, co-authors Jadzia and Go Nuclear supply their unique input to round off the EP.

Born in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Wiremu Hohaia is a visual artist, producer, writer, and DJ with a background in sensory neuroscience. Wiremu is currently based in Berlin, Germany. 

“Mechanoreceptor is a project I use to explore a semi-fictional world I call the Aviary. Here, sound is offered as a direct translation of the visual features, often interpreting such phenomena and objects as ceramic dust snowfall, bronze statues, light reflectance, and crystallised wind. As an artist, I enjoy romanticising the relationship between light and the objects it meets. Imagining how this relationship exists in purely auditory space satisfies my curiosity further.”
