"071" is one of my favorite tracks in the original game. It's inexplicable how it can convey so much emotions at once; expectancy, sadness, hope. It is a really special track and it earns its title by how it conveys what makes Undertale truly unique. 

Because of that, I really wanted to do justice to this track. It actually went through many different versions, but this one is the one that really struck with me. While it may be shorter than the original track, I feel actually proud of how it's composed, the way it remixes the main theme, and so many other things. Just the same, I hope you like it.

-----Backstory-----
Once upon a time
There were two siblings were raised by an ancient god. They devoted themselves to their god with trust and loyalty. In return for their purity, the god granted the younger brother the ability to see the future. He was purer than his sister. 

However, during their journey into the world, they faced a group of entities that threatened them. To protect her brother and keep his heart pure, the sister sacrificed herself as a distraction and was taken away. 

After her kidnapping, the young brother felt lost in darkness. He decided to look into his future and saw himself holding a crystal. What he saw was so shocking that it shattered his fragile vision, leaving him completely blind. Vulnerable and weak, he was hunted by the entities. When they told him they had killed his sister, his purity broke. Filled with vengeance, he fought back, taking them down one by one. Sadly, his sister was still missing. He realized that no one can remain pure forever; eventually, they must confront harsh realities. 

The young brother transformed into a relentless force, attacking the entities, even those who meant no harm. Each one he defeated added to his collection of souls, trophies of his revenge. Once he gathered enough souls, he gained the power to access the Astral Plane, where he could seek the souls he had not yet claimed. Perhaps this power would be enough to bring his sister back.
------------Present Story----
After many confrontations, Kesis tried to get the Vessel to hand over the shadow crystal. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers, and the fake shadow crystal he had given the Vessel exploded, trapping them in place. It became clear that Kesis had been pretending all along. He wasn't crazy or just a quirky character; he was acting to lure the Vessel to his cave. He blocked the exit by collapsing it and engaged in a fight with the Vessel. However, this battle was just a test of their abilities. Kesis discovered that the Vessel was not just a simple Lightner but a decoy controlled by an unknown entity.

Kesis harbored deep hatred for Lightners, viewing them as false idols. He took no pleasure in satisfying them; instead, he enjoyed watching them decay. To see the Vessel suffer, he opened a portal to the astral plane, where Lightner souls go when they die in the Dark World. There, Kesis transformed into a powerful being called Astral Thymokesis, using the Lightner souls he had captured to wield their abilities against the Vessel.

Just when it seemed all was lost, the Ancient Amulet flew out of the Vessel's pocket. It was Rah, who judged Kesis for no longer being "pure." With a burst of light, Rah defeated Thymokesis by draining Kesis's powers, reducing him to a mere Darkner. Without his abilities, the Lightner souls he had taken were freed and returned to the Dark World, ending the battle. In a moment of compassion, Rah chose to forgive Kesis, offering him a chance to redeem himself by joining the Vessel in search of Kesis's sister.

Syskonbråk-sviten – Helhetsbeskrivning

Syskonbråk-sviten är ett konceptuellt musikprojekt i fyra delar, skapat av Nordic Soul Syndicate. Varje EP speglar en egen musikalisk värld men binds samman av temat: syskonlika konflikter mellan genrer, känslor och uttryck. Från lo-fi-indie till psykedelisk jazzrock, från progfusionens kaos till soulens och gospelns försoning. Tillsammans bildar de en musikalisk resa – från första repan till sista ackordet – där varje skiva är ett kapitel i samma berättelse.

2. Malå – The Deeper Cut

The Deeper Cut dyker rakt ner i psykedelisk jazzrock. Orgel, wah-wah-gitarr och funkiga rytmer som slingrar sig mellan kaos och kontroll. Här möts 70-talets dekadens med en modern nerv, som ett jam i en rökig källarklubb där ingen riktigt vet vart låten är på väg.

2. Malå – The Deeper Cut

Här börjar resan gå djupare, mörkare, mer psykedelisk.

Flesh Wound Funk svänger som ett gammalt 70-talsjam, med orgel och wah-wah-gitarrer som trasslar in sig i varandra. Det låter som ett soundtrack till en film som aldrig spelades in.

Paper Cut Blues är släpigare, nästan dekadent – en låt som luktar cigarettrök, svettiga väggar och smältande lava-lampor.

Crimson Samba är kapitlets klimax: en rytmisk explosion där kaoset tar över och gitarrerna skriker som från en annan dimension.

Kapitel 2: Malå – The Deeper Cut

I Malå djupnade allt. Det var här musiken började drömma, här som 70-talsorgeln väckte gamla spöken.
Flesh Wound Funk var som att stå mitt i ett kaotiskt vardagsrum med väggar av röda sammetsgardiner och höra någon spela ett beat som aldrig ville ta slut.
När Paper Cut Blues satte igång, var det som att hela huset började luta. Wah-wah-gitarrerna grät, trummorna snubblade, och någon skrattade i bakgrunden.
Men det var Crimson Samba som sprängde ut i full dramatik. Ett dansande inferno där rytmerna slogs mot varandra, som syskon som vägrar sluta bråka men ändå dansar i samma takt.
