Japanese electronic music mainstay Gonno is back with another quality EP in the form of Taiwanese imprint JIN’s 8th release. The label, which usually focuses on dancefloor oriented 4/4 from Asian talent, has featured many prominent artists from the region including Mr. Ho and Sunju Hargun. 

JIN08 consists of 4 tracks, 3 Gonno originals backed by a Voiski remix. The B2, Arabica, serves as a beautiful ambient closer, serving as a perfect complement to the preceding three tracks, juxtaposing all the emotions from the other tracks with the melancholy and nostalgia that comes at the end of a fun night out. From bubbly, happy house on “Energy Flash” to IDM on “Final Hate” to Voiski’s synth-oriented reinterpretation of “Energy Flash”, the EP continues Gonno’s streak of avant-garde dance floor goodness that we have come to expect. 

JIN08 is available for pre-order now, and will be out on September 29, 2023, digitally via the label’s Bandcamp and on vinyl on the One Eye Witness website.

On deck for today's premiere comes in the form of Yasei aka Alejandro Bento, and his song, ‘Up The Tree’. Coming in as the final track on his forthcoming Qeone release titled ‘Tombo’, the veteran Spaniard producer flexes his musical versatility throughout the release by storming through raucous dance floor fillers, muted broken beat melodic moments, no nonsense techno, and ending properly with our premiere track.

Akin to a massive exhale and release of energy, those moments immediately after a large climatic moment, ‘Up The Tree’ begins with pensive melodies that ease the listener into a state of contentedness. That all is well, the afterglow in full effect, supplemented by stellar drum programming and an ear-worm like melody that hits precisely to carry this satisfied feeling on for the duration of the track.

‘Up The Tree’ and the entirety of Tombo will be released on Qeone, the 15th of November.
