Various Artists Compilation es el primer lanzamiento del nuevo sello berlinés ODD Pleasures, que incluye música de Alvee, Random Atlas, Persona RS, Marzian, Ludviq, Javier Martinez, Fat & Bald, Ducati Flux, Alex Aguayo y Aural Trace. 

ODD Pleasures se conjura en una carta de presentación sin igual orquestando su primer lanzamiento a bombo y platillo con un elenco de artistas de primer nivel.

 Los dogmas utilizados para esta junta cósmica son el amor por los ritmos a baja revolución, tintes Kraut o un sentimiento común por la música electrónica con influencias  post punk y new wave. 

Preparaos con este sello porque viene con el acelerador a fondo para los siguientes lanzamientos.

PREMIERE: Alex Aguayo - Erase Your Memory [ODD Pleasures]

Astroloop’s debut solo outing opens up with the title track ‘Right Before’, a moody and muscular take on deep house that gradually builds tension and suspense throughout its six-minute duration. The track is followed up soon after with a stellar remix from two gifted Mexican producers, Theus Mago & Moisees, who bring the distorted vocal parts to the foreground while decorating the track with additional percussion, effects and melodies. The result retains the driving momentum of the original while viewing Astroloop’s productions through a beautifully twisted perspective.

Astroloop - Right Before (Theus Mago & Moisees Remix)

London-based DJ and producer Katie Wilkinson is a bird lover, no wonder she decided to call her brand-new music project… Birds. Exploring her New Wave, 80s Goth, Techno, Psychedelic, and Experimental influences, Katie has been delivering high-quality themes and drawing more and more attention through her solid releases on influential Indie Dance labels such as Emerald & Doreen, Ombra International, Samo, Inside Out, and now on NEIN Records with “Time”, a 4-track EP divided into two dark-as-hell originals and two dangerous remixes by our dear friends Alvee (FREEDL019) and Gegen Mann (SXDNS220).

Her music brings together acid basslines with post-punk style guitars and off-kilter vocals to create something refreshingly original. The successful formula has been responsible for extremely well-crafted retro-infused pieces. In sum: Music with attitude, that’s the best definition of Birds’ exquisite sonority.

Through the remix we were solicited to review/premiere, Alvee proved he is totally familiarized and comfortable dealing with the mesmerizing Post-Punk universe. His interpretation of “Feed The Void” kept the gloomy atmosphere of the original even after having spiced & speed up things a little bit. The Mexican virtuoso went from 100 to 121 BPM, properly twisted the vibrant acid layer, and added some badass guitar riffs that paired sublimely with the amazing vocals by the star of the hour. Kudos, Jungs!

In Greek mythology, Tartarus (Ancient Greek: Τάρταρος) is the deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked.

Talk Hard - Running away

Florence renaissance man Tulioxi drops his debut release on Slow Motion splashing fresh vitality onto a vintage European sonic palette. Video-age melodies and blistering electro-disco drums are served atop high-voltage bass-lines with pulsing hypnotic funk. Remixes come from Altieri’s eerie, squelchy and mesmerising take on The Japanese Message, and Armonics floaty transposition of Fighting Against Someone Else’s Perception.

Relish Compilation VII features tracks and remixes by AHEADACHEADAY, ELIEZER w/ Zillas on Acid and Dangur, M Love, Headman, Mufti feat. Vongold, Franz & Shape and Modular Project.

The Compilation starts off with Alberto de Angeli aka AHEADACHEADAY. A dark slow motion synth laden track with Burundi beat undertones. 
Tel Aviv’s Eliezer collaborated w/ Zillas on Acid on Anna Bella. The vocals are by Isadora. The song is trippy, hypnotic and percussive.
M Love’s Price is his 3rd release on Relish. New World was featured on REPIX. New Wave and Krautrock infused techno for the momentarily absent dancefloors.This time a bit harder and less melodic. Devoleb is a new Headman track. The original idea was to rework an old track, but while working on it something new came out. The track is an example of Post Punk Disco, 808 drummachines and Basslines that reminds one of Motorik retro futurist funk. Crimson is by Eliezer and Dangur with again vocals from Isadora. This version is a bit more uptempo, again with a tribal nearly ethnic feel with guitars and percussion that slide in and out dubbing everything. Mufti feat Vongold contributed already on REPXI. False Guru has a similar  Mexican underground vibe, dark arpeggio synths, driving drums and  mystic vocals by Vongold.
Headman’s Be Loved original version was released in 2011. First remixed by Daniel Avery on the homonymous single. Modular Project remixed the version again and turned it into a high energy dark Giorgio Moroder-esque interpretation keeping loads of sounds and the poppy vocals from the original. Franz & Shape who have been part of Relish since the early days contributed N.u.m.b.. The vocals are by Matt Southall from the UK band Officers. The remix is by Croatian electronica producer Petar Dundov. He added vocoders and gave a nice retro-italo feel to the original version.
