Alvarortega is a graphic artist that also makes music. Music influenced by the sixties british pop bands and related with psychedelia and beatlesque sounds.

After playing together in several bands and line-ups, besides the solo-projects of  both, we - Robin and Chris - came together to create music we both love. Some of our favourite bands / performers are Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater and Neal Morse. With 'Circle's Edge', we are making music that includes elements from all of these bands, for example the heavyness (and growls) from 'Opeth', the atmosphere of Steven Wilson and 'Porcupine Tree', the virtuosity of 'Dream Theater' and Neal Morse - and the brilliancy of all of them.

The line-up of the band is as follows:
Robin - Guitars (7-String), Bass, Growls
Chris - Drums, Guitars (6-String), Keys, Vocals
With the mix of 7- and 6-string-guitars we are able to create a special sound, having a deep and heavy sound on one side with a  higher sound on the other side. At some parts this is a really cool mix, that we personally haven't heard before.

We wrote our first album during June 2012 and startet recording it in July 2012. The recording-sessions were finished in January 2013. The album is called "Point of No Return" and includes 9 songs. In September 2012 we started to write the second album, including an epic 30-minute longtrack. The album is named "Just for a Moment" and is expected to be recorded during 2013.

Thus we are both writing the music - sometimes together, sometimes each one by himself - there is a certain diversity within the songs, because one on his own would maybe lead a song in another direction than the other one does. Especially for me (Chris) - writing many, many music on my own - this was a great thing to see, how a song developes completely unexpected, but still in a totally awesome way.

At least, 'Circle's Edge' is a project, were we make the music, that we personally want to hear. We don't look, what others could like at the moment or pay attention to stay in the same style all the time. A finished song just needs to blow our minds away, disregarded of what others could think - because music is always a question of taste.
