Italian producer Ruben Mandolini lands on Great Stuff Recordings with a tasty 3-tracker, after having made appearances on Toolroom Trax, Riva Starr&#8217;s Snatch! Records and Mario Piu&#8217;s Fahrenheit Recordings. Channelling his country&#8217;s techno heritage, he&#8217;s come up with an excellent little collection.

Freaky Deaky is drenched in droning, atonal bass and super-snappy beats, moodily stomping its way through trippy vocal snippets and mind-bending FX on its way to a huge breakdown and drop combo. Carefully examine the layers of murkiness and you&#8217;ll find some low end funk there too.

Inside Me takes that tinge of funk and pushes into the track&#8217;s rhythm, discordant synth and percussive sounds punctuating the groove in infectious fashion as some seriously low slung bass throbs away. Super-sized breakdowns provide respite and contrast and help to complete a succinct but highly effective DJ weapon.

Orange County rounds off with more urgency and heavy beats, pounding the listener into submission with its punchy swagger. Clever little fills and phat drum programming sass things up, and the result is pure dancefloor gold with a brilliantly swung groove.

A career spent DJing across the globe was the catalyst for Damian Lazarus’s latest project – Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons. Masterminded by Lazarus the album brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world. Taking inspiration from Lazarus's Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico, this is music for deserts, jungles and sunrises.

Kicking off in LA, Lazarus was joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence) as the album moved to London, and then final recording sessions completed in Mexico . The resulting album, ‘Message From the Other Side’, is a revelation. It runs the gamut from the wonderful Qawwali-flavoured techno of last year’s alternative dance hit ‘Lovers Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)’ to the African-tinged house of ‘Sacred Dance of the Demon’, dense dark ambient of ‘Inner Core’, and the bubbling depths of forthcoming single Vermillion, this is a rich and ambitious album. Lazarus brought together the widest range of musicians to achieve his goals. Initially there was Moses Sumney, an LA singer-songwriter and guitarist whose vocals light up the dynamic deep house groove of ‘Vermillion’, and the epic closing number, ‘Tangled Web’. Lazarus’s long-standing friend and associate Ali Love, contributes vocals to the soulful groove of ‘We Will Return’. Other collaborations came from further afield. Hossam Ramzy, an Egyptian master- percussionist, most famous for his work on Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s ‘No Quarter’ album laid down the amazing rhythm tracks for the Ancient Moons. ELEW (Eric Lewis), an American jazz pianist played a ‘treated piano’ in an unexpected, experimental way. Lazarus and Ford turned to Andrew Waterworth, double bassist with the acclaimed Penguin Café for the album’s lush string arrangements courtesy of Mexico’s Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

Man O To from the elusive producer NU is finally set to be released as a single on Crosstown Rebels. Since its inclusion on Acid Pauli’s Get Lost Compilation in 2012 the track has clocked up tens of millions of Youtube hits and now heralds in a much coveted artist album due later this year. Remix treatment comes from Parisian producer ​Pépé Bradock and live artist Be Svendsen.

A nomad of modern times, ​NU​ has travelled the continents with his diverse music to unearth his imitable style. Repres​ented heavily in ​Man O To, where instruments amalgamate with electronic production to become solid rhythms. An extra spark come from its lyrics, outtakes from an old Persian poem from the well known poet Rumi, who speaks of true happiness in love here performed by Ghazal Shakeri from an original recording made by renowned French composer Armand Amar.

Julien Auger aka ​Pépé Bradock​ is a widely respected producer best known for his anthemic releases on French label Kif Recordings which are still sampled heavily to this day. As a DJ, he has spun in almost every major club in the world and is known for his versatile, and mesmerising style. Bradock conjures a trippy remix and dub version of ​Man O To and fitting ode to the original.

Be Svendsen​ aka Lasse Bruhn Svendsen broke through into the international scene in 2014 with a series of productions and enchanting live performances at some of the most avant garde places to play on the earth, such as BOOM festival, Fusion, Burning Man, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent and AfrikaBurn. ​“‘Man O To’ is a track that has touched th​ e hearts of many, including my own,’ Svendsen explained.​ ‘Being asked to add a new chapter to its story is both an honor and my greatest challenge to date.”

Get Physical welcome back regular label artists Blond:ish for a brace of brilliant new tracks that show their real range in the studio.

Montreal duo Anstascia D’Elene and Vivie-Ann Bakos have now been working together Since they met as ravers a while back. Their sound is as genre non-specific as is one of their sets: over the course of many EPs and a fine LP, they have touched on slick tech, shimmering electronic house and dark pop on Mile End, Kompakt and Get Physical. As such they are regulars everywhere from Burning Man to Brazil, Indonesia to the best spots in Europe.

Opener ‘EEEYAAA’ is a big track with bouncy drums and loose percussive hits with a tribal feel up top. It rises and falls and builds to a peak before pulling back to go again. It’s bendy and elastic throughout, and certain to get clubs marching as one, especially
with the freaky vocal that percolates through the mix.

The wild ‘WA IS DA WA’ is a totally different proposition, with filtered loops, various vocal riffs and funky bass licks all working you into a disco flavoured lather. It’s a collage of different samples that all add up to one steamy and incendiary track designed to blow up the club slowly but surely.

These two terrific tracks are another essential musical statement from the ever on point pairing.
