Joyce Muniz lands on Exploited on 1st August with ‘Cover Me Up’, the single taken from her forthcoming album ‘Made In Vienna’. We’ve got the exclusive play of ANNA’s remix of it above.

The original version features the honeyed vocals of Kat Vinter, but on her remix, Muniz’ fellow Brazilian ANNA turns in a weighty slab of trippy lights-out techno, complete with heavy kicks and rattling percussion.

Speaking about it, she says, “The original is deeper and has a strong focus on the vocals, I wanted to make it more underground, still keeping the deep vibe but with a different kind of energy.”

Riding high on the success of his EPOCH EP in February, John Monkman makes his debut on Crosstown Rebels with HARMONIX, a celebration of the Moog Voyager, whilst techno heavyweight Matrixxman supplies the remix.

A true master of his craft, Monkman has been creating music for over a decade and his passion and experience shine through his productions. HARMONIX was born after the UK producer and DJ limited himself to just one synth, resulting in “interesting harmonics and a rawness that comes from syncing the oscillators, combined with an overload hack that gives the sound a little more juice”.

Sophisticated and formidable, HARMONIX 1 and HARMONIX 2 are orchestrated around the legendary Moog Voyager, with charged high hats that fracture the driving beat. US producer and DJ Matrixxman completes the EP with an imposing remix, verging on cinematic and brimming with atmosphere.

Continually building on his solid reputation, John Monkman has previously collaborated with Pete Tong, and released on labels including; Kompakt, Get Physical and Noir.

Hannes Bieger - Tephra

Hannes Bieger (@hannesbieger) is one of Europe’s most in-demand mixing engineers, working for some of the biggest names in the business. With such a wealth of experience, it’s no surprise to anyone that his own productions are every bit as beautifully constructed as his high profile clients. Dropping this three tracker on 2nd home Poker Flat, Bieger gives a lesson in tech house dynamics.

Title track 'Tephra' is a true proposition - urgent, skittering drums with deep bass pulses pepper the track, while a delirious lead takes things into epic territory - a track that exists to send chills up the spine of dancers and listeners alike.

'Didyme' is cut from similar cloth - perfectly balanced elements create a whole that far outstrips its minimal elements. Arpeggiated synths sit low in the mix before a lead brings shades of rave into focus.

Rounding out the release, 'Galeras' is more of a heads down affair - tough and funky drums set the pace while bass tones and fragments of melody provide the late night vibe.
