Following the announcement that Masters At Work/KenLou have remixed ‘Antigravity Love’, taken from electronic hero Krust’s critically-acclaimed album ‘The Edge Of Everything’, the A-list versions keep flowing with Four Tet, Batu and Damian Lazarus each re-working a different track from the LP.

Sparkling like stars with a pretty melody, Four Tet’s interpretation of ‘Negative Returns’ also packs a deceptively heavy punch, maintaining the original’s hurtling velocity, fuelled by a huge sub-bass engine. “This is the first D&B track I’ve ever made! It felt good to do something out of my comfort zone”, says the much-loved artist also known as Kieran Hebden.

The spiralling beat-and-bass science of fellow Bristolian Batu’s version takes ‘Space Oddity’ and deconstructs it like a cubist portrait, matching the main man himself in pure outside-the-box expression.

Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus maintains Krust’s epic adventure narrative, retelling the tale in his own words, taking recognisable parts from the original and transposing them into a groovy cosmic house odyssey.

Exclusive: Nana Adjoa - Cardboard Castle (Kev Sheridan Remix)

Having released various EPs as well as singles on Maeve Kev Sheridan now leaves his musical home to remix Dutch artist Nana Adjoa. The latter released her album Big Dreaming Ants last year and has several artists (from the electronic music scene) remixing her original works. Kev took on remix duties for Cardboard Castle and while the original already contained a rather spherical and dark twist, the Berliner emphasized those adding a drum'n'bass-note to it but still manages to include the original vocals and the guitar riffs in a manner that transports the original vibe and message yet opens a new soundspectrum for both listeners and original artist. It's Sheridan's musical delicacy of feeling and how his remix is composed that make his version of Cardboard Castle one of these tracks that you want to listen to over and over again, at home, in the car or at the club. 

Nana Adjoa Cardboard Castle (Kev Sheridan Remix) will be released on Bloomer Records on February 12th, 2021.
