An "Exotic Groove Metal" song by Baltimore's Cryptic Matter with a strong Middle-Eastern vibe. This song utilizes sitar simulators, Middle-Eastern scales, and bellydancing drum beats on-top of a typical rock instrumentation of distorted guitar shredding, funky bellydancing drum beats, clean/screamo vocals, and a driving bass line. This song is available off our self-titled debut EP "Cryptic Matter" found on iTunes, Amazon mp3, and Google Play.

"The cross-pollination of Steve's metal guitar work with Justin's funk-rock drumming resulted in Cryptic Matter's unique sound, "Exotic Groove Metal," characterized by heavy guitar riffs/solos written in exotic scales, sitar simulators, Middle-Eastern drones, and hypnotic belly dancing-like drum beats. Meanwhile, Adam weaves funky/groovy bass lines underneath Devin's screamo/melodic vocal attack."

Game Of Thrones Main Theme (cover)

Cryptic Matter is an American alternative metal band from Baltimore, MD, created in 2011. The band was founded by Justin Bidinger (Drums), Devin Greenburg (vocals, guitar), Steve Hung (guitar), and Adam Bidinger (bass). Adam parted ways with the band and shortly thereafter came the additions of John Perry (bass) and Andrea Lauzon (keys).

Cryptic Matter generates its sound from alternative, funk, metal, and international music. Tragedy Guide and Asphexia were inspired by Asian sitars while upcoming Land of Kush in the traditional sounds of flamenco. With band members having roots in various parts of the world (Europe, South America, and Asia) the integration of the culture was pivotal in defining the direction of the band. This blend of influences of music and culture has created the exotic, groovy, and hard hitting music you will hear from Cryptic Matter.
