Any blurb about Colin Dale's career is bound to exclude many seminal moments, such is the extent of his achievements in almost four decades behind the decks. In 1982, Dale started warming up for Tim Westwood in central London clubs like Heaven. He cut his teeth playing soul, funk and boogie in clubs and on pirate radio station Phase One, until landing a slot on Kiss FM in 1986. Over the next 16 years, Dale became London's answer to The Wizard, with his Abstrakt Dance show (and related Outer Limits mix CDs) introducing a whole generation to the cutting-edge sounds of Detroit, Chicago and beyond.

Dale is a visionary DJ, one of the first to explore the links between funk, boogie and proto-house, then going through phases of industrial techno, Detroit techno, acid and the techier house and Deep Tech sound he spins today. Aside from his DJing, Dale is a fixture of UK dance music, as a former dancer, promoter of legendary parties like Knowledge, artist manager and label owner. As a producer and remixer, his credits range from an early record on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label, to the EPs he continues to drop on Abstrakt Dance Records today. He doesn't rest on the success of his hallowed days, continuing his presence on the London club circuit and tirelessly pushing his sound into the future.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2025 and beyond.

Claire stormed in to the House and Techno scene with an array of stunning releases with her first E.P being signed to Steve Bug's highly respected imprint Dessous Recordings. Claire continued this success by featuring on labels such as Knee Deep in Sound, Dogmatik Records, Neurotraxx, working again with Steve Bug on his Audiomatique label, murmur records having her huge hit 'Slow Loris' remixed by Solomun which gained plays by artists like Richie Hawtin and 1trax including a remix of Robert Owens - I'll Be Your Friend alongside artists like Jamie Jones. 

Claire pushed the same tempo with a strong output of releases in collaboration with new production partner Zeitgeist on Highgrade Records in Berlin, Gorge's Katchuli, Wiggle Records and releasing Come to the Disco exclusively on the first VIVa Warriors compilation mixed by Steve Lawler following Highgrade track ‘Crystal Meth Barbie’ being charted as one of Steve Lawler’s best club tracks of the year.

Away from having her tracks signed to some of the worlds biggest labels she was the head of Phobic Records with Richard Belsom. The label showcased some of the best international artists on the scene with the likes of Tim Green, Rebekah, Chris Lattner, Ekkohaus, Alex Arnout, Inxec and Jey Kurmis. The label saw massive support from top DJ's worldwide from the likes of Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Mathias Tanzmann, Carl Cox, Magda, Slam, Steve Lawler, Simon Baker, Laurent Garnier, Matt Tolfrey, Nic Fanciulli, Gabriel Ananda and more.

In addition to releasing on some of the most highly respected labels Claire’s past appearances have included the 6 Music Festival, Panorama Bar (Berlin), Fabric (London), Circo Loco/Saved (Maidstone), K4 Klub (Slovenia), Wiggle (NYE at Paramount), Salon Daome (Montreal) and many more.

During 2024 the new project from Claire & Richard Belsom "Broken Native" released their first e.p on Steve Lawlers iVAV Recordings. The project is intended to showcase their love for techno, breakbeat and new school garage inspired by their love of 90’s breaks, hardcore and liquid drum & bass.

It’s easy to see why Claire was selected as "Keep an eye on" in Mixmag and described as "Very impressive stuff" by DJ Mag.
