I have absorbed a wide, eclectic variety of music for decades, and am spewing out my personal blend.

Following the path of many of Michigan’s best storytellers, singer-songwriter Evan “Woots” Wouters fell into his own place. The experiences, people and illustrious moments from his childhood home of Detroit, Michigan, populate the 10 songs in his formidable debut, “Off The Dock”, an album that’s concurrently contemporary and seasoned with experience. 

Singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist, Evan “WOOTS” Wouters is the precise blend of unique musicianship and a passionate entertainer. Starting out on the piano at the age of five, it wasn't long until he started carving his own path in musical production. While being brought up in a home packed full of art and music, Evan began writing songs at a very young age. Raised just outside the city of Detroit, it is easy to hear elements of rock, soul, hip-hop, gospel, funk and R&B rooted in his attentive yet passionate song-writing. It wasn’t until residing in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he began experimenting with elements of folk, bluegrass, and country music to develop his own unique sound and craft a powerful stage presence.

The WOOTS project began as Evan transitioned from a collaborating songwriter and bandmate, to an individual artist focused on writing songs that held purpose. As the songs continued to roll out, Evan focused on not only performing them, but seeking out optimum musicians to bring them to their fullest potential. In this process, “WOOTS” was born.
As a live performer WOOTS is just as captivating fronting a multiple-piece heavy rock funk band, as he is playing solo acoustic songs in a living room concert. When unaccompanied, he encapsulates songs at the forefront intertwined with improvised backing loops building in the moment while simultaneously improvising on the guitar, microphone and piano. Simply put; no two WOOTS performances are the same.

I have no idea what I'm doing lol I'm just trying IAM from otsego Michigan I lived in Portland TN big rapids mi evart mi homer mi Kalamazoo mi battle creek mi and now a lil town Banfield mi I would like advice on how I could do better . I have hung out in Orangeville Michigan when I was a kid
