Anna Meredith is a composer, producer and performer of both acoustic and electronic music.  Her sound is frequently described as ‘maximalist’ ‘uncategorisable’ and ‘genre-hopping’ and straddles the different worlds of contemporary classical, avant pop, electronica and experimental rock. 

Her music has been performed everywhere from the BBC Last Night of the Proms to flashmob body-percussion performances in the M6 Services, PRADA fashion campaigns, numerous films, installations and documentaries, pop festivals, clubs and classical concert halls worldwide and broadcast on Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6.

She has been Composer in Residence with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, RPS/PRS Composer in the House with Sinfonia ViVA, the classical music representative for the 2009 South Bank Show Breakthrough Award and winner of the 2010 Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers.

Her recent piece Connect It was written for the BBC’s award winning Ten Pieces scheme which involved half of all UK Primary school children working on Connect It as well as Anna leading broadcasts, workshops and performances including at Radio 2’s Proms in the Park to 40,000 people.

 Anna's two EPs - Black Prince Fury and Jet Black Raider were released on Moshi Moshi Records to critical acclaim including Drowned in Sound's Single of the Year.

She performs with her band of classical musicians and a line up of Anna on clarinet and electronics plus two cellists, electric guitar, tuba and drums.  They have performed everywhere from Latitude to Ether festivals, la Gaîté Lyrique, Le Guess Who to classical music festivals and residencies.  

Recent projects have included collaborations with Laura Marling and The Stranglers for the first 6Music Prom, commissions for the Aurora Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Living Earth Duo, Installations for Sleep-Pods in Singapore and Park Benches in Hong Kong and the world's first Concerto for Beatboxer and Orchestra.

Regarded upon his 2006 arrival as a promising beatmaker looming in the shadows of J Dilla, Madlib, waterfalls and Dabrye, Steven Ellison -- known as Flying Lotus -- nullified all comparisons only two years later with Los Angeles. On that album, his first of five for the Warp label, Ellison distilled a uniquely crisp, spasmodic, and heady sound with elements of hip-hop, avant-garde jazz, IDM, and dubstep. While the abovementioned producers fueled Ellison, he had also been excited as a youngster by the '90s West Coast rap classics that combined programming and live instrumentation. His sound continued to develop as he put his own twist on the approach, recording with a crop of jazz musicians including the indispensable likes of bassist Thundercat and strings master Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. This process began with the turbulent 2010 set Cosmogramma and peaked in terms of acclaim in 2014 with You're Dead!, which crashed the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and spawned the Kendrick Lamar collaboration "Never Catch Me," a Grammy nominee for Best Dance Recording. Ellison devoted a few years to various forms of film work and the operation of his revered Brainfeeder label, and returned in 2019 with Flamagra, his second consecutive album to top Billboard's Dance/Electronic chart.

Current Views was founded by European Bob and Rora in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. 

During her studies at the Guildhall School in 2019, Rora was set to write a piece for pianist, Angela Novy and violinist, Giulia Lussoso. Inspired by Philip Venables and David Hoyle’s piece ‘Illusions’, Rora wanted to write a socially and culturally engaged piece expressed through spoken word and music, so she asked European Bob to share some of his poetry. From this initial collaboration was born ‘Not My Lover’. European Bob’s poem is at the centre of the piece and is a kind of love letter to England inspired by Allen Ginsberg’s poem, ‘America’. 

After working on 'Not My Lover' they decided to make a genre-jumping album that explores the interplay between music, language, visual art, and performance. They invited more creatives to join and form the band Current Views. They recently released their first EP, ‘Hindsight is 2020’ which is a social commentary on British life over the past few years.
