none/such’s next charity compilation is an effort to raise money for Refugees4Refugees, an independent community network of refugee activists who fight for the protection of their human rights, equality, freedom, and dignity. Standing united against social exclusion in order to contest cultures of isolation, racism, and discrimination, R4R organizes grassroots resistance and campaigns against the oppression of refugee communities in Germany and Europe enabling freedom of movement for the most marginalized. The compilation is free, but all proceeds will go directly to the Refugees4Refugees network.

IT'S A CHIPS 'N FANS KIND OF NIGHT

Hamburg-based producer and DJ Beam Control makes his debut on DJ MELL G’s Label JUICY GANG RECORDS with a bass-heavy 6-track electro EP "Moving Electrons".

Having been deeply immersed in the electronic music scene for six years, Beam Control's journey began in Leipzig, where he organized parties with friends. His sound is heavily influenced by artists like Keith Tucker, Anthony Rother, and Morphology and further shaped by his friendships with XY0815, Varum, and Int Main (Yarn Init). Since 2023, he’s been organizing parties in Hamburg under the name „SYNTAX.“
 
The EP kicks off with "On the Circuit," a synth-driven breakbeat track that sets the tone for the acid and break journey ahead. "Electronic Overload" follows, introducing a thumping bassline, melodic flourishes, and robotic vocals that enhance the EP's futuristic vibe. "Robot Science" stands out as a dynamic exploration of sounds, merging dark bass synths with uplifting elements . The track starts with cheeky phone edits and snappy, energetic kicks. As it continues, it introduces bright melodies and heavy vocals, which gives track a special dark vibe. "Distorted Minds," featuring Jetson G, brings all the elements together for a classic ghetto house track, blending uplifting sounds and commanding vocals. The EP continues with Yarn Init's remix of "Robot Science," featuring deeper bass patterns, robotic voice snippets, and a darker spin on the original tune. The EP finishes with „Walking Hours,“ wrapping up the EP with its bouncing synth rhythms and guiding energy, concluding this bass heavy musical journey.

For this edition, I wanted to work with diva vocals that didn't have publicly available or easy to find acapellas.

Some thoughts don’t leave you. Some questions linger long after they’ve been asked. Dom Apes’ Wasted Energy EP exists in that space between contemplation and release, between old cycles and new perspectives. Written during a period of upheaval, the record reflects on loss, rejection, and uncertainty, but also on clarity, reinvention, and quiet hope.

The EP rounds off with Fuelless Consumption, which came together on a sober Friday night, written as Dom questioned whether music would still hit the same without the crutch of alcohol. A swelling, introspective closer, it leans into deep, somber textures, like coming up for air after a long night out. It shifts the energy just enough to feel like an ending, but one that leaves the door slightly open.

Created between London and the North East, Wasted Energy sits in the push and pull between movement and stillness, between city life and solitude. It’s the sound of memories resurfacing, of lost ideas finding a new home, and of music acting as both an anchor and a release.

Bristol is showing no sign of losing its edge as the UK’s leading dance music city, and the latest from local label Peach Discs is an unexpected collaboration from two of its finest producers. Fresh from his split release with Laurel Halo, Livity Sound affiliate Hodge teams up with Peach Discs boss Shanti Celeste, one of Bristol’s most successful DJ exports of recent years. The Soba Dance 12” contains three tracks of trippy, drum-heavy energy, but on the heatstroke-inducing B-side ‘Alula’ they’ve produced a winning combo of crusty breaks, tropical percussion and a ridiculously infectious bassline. Soba Dance is out via Peach Discs on 6th February.

Rising Icelandic talent Felix Leifur continues to sharpen his sound with a distinct and foreboding electro EP titled 'BROT01' - the first release in a series of four coming soon via the Reykjavík-based imprint, Lagaffe Tales. 

Ahead of the release, Felix Leifur has handed over the track 'Brot 3' - a  down low and nefarious dancefloor cut with crisp breaks and airy pads that mirror on the harsh nature of Iceland’s beautiful, expansive and fallow landscape.

'Brot01' drops on March 22 via Lagaffe Tales.
