While some relationships are cherished forever, others slowly dissolve into oblivion as time passes. However, what lingers on are these certain moments when undefined feelings creep back up and we revel in happy memories while at the same time mourning the transience of past moments we shared with people which once felt so present in our life. The double-edged character of nostalgia that remains in regards to friendships and relationships long-gone - that's what Break Well tries to identify and describe. Break Well offers a home for a diverse array of artists to channel this sentiment into musical transmissions. Sometimes it hurts to dwell in this bi-polar sentiment called nostalgia, but in the end the positive feelings will hopefully exceed the negative and we will still feel love for each other - sometimes more, sometimes less.

OUT NOW is Uferhallen’s 2021 annual exhibition, returning for its third official edition from 10 – 13 September. It takes place in Uferhallen’s landmark main hall and combines established with emerging, internal and external positions to present the work of 34 artists and collectives. OUT NOW seeks to highlight Uferhallen through an exhibition and performance program, two days of open studios, as well as a month-long residency set up under the mentorship of Uferhallen artist Rosa Barba. This interdisciplinary combination seeks to explore the potential of Uferhallen's 10,000+ sqm spaces in order to simultaneously consider what its loss, and losses of places like it, might represent.
OUT NOW is an exhibition about presence and absence, debut and expulsion. It commands us to gather and to leave. It presents work that revels in anticipatory and consummatory pleasures alongside that which troubles the reciprocity of hype and value through positions that omit, conceal or refuse. Works exhibited as part of OUT NOW explore apparent contradictions in order to parse the complex realities of being an artist today. The program registers a range of media, tones and textures which, in combination, suggest that singularity is not always an asset and that the new might not simply be a form of triumph, but a catalyst for new alliances.

The fourth show in the Cyrk series ‘Pattern Compulsions’ curated for Resonance 104.4FM, is an exclusive mix from Mark Harwood, (born 1972, Ferntree Gully, Vic).

Having dabbled in the oblique end of sonic arts for 20 years Mark is currently a publisher of books and music. Formally owner and proprietor of Synaesthesia records, Australia, he published works by Hecker, Robin Fox, Francis Plagne and Bernard Parmegiani amongst others. Currently based in London he runs Penultimate Press which has published 3 books of writings and artwork by Graham Lambkin and also distributes Lambkin's 'Kye' label. Future PP output includes vinyl releases by Henning Christiansen (split with Kye), Jacques Brodier and Marco Fusinato. Mark is also working on a full length album which will see the light of night in 2012.
