He’s back! 18 months have passed since he helped Holic Trax launch with the evergreen ‘Danceaholics’ EP, Mr G returns to Tomoki Tamura’s label with another session of insatiable tech soul. 
One of the most venerated men in techno, Colin McBean paints from a strictly timeless sound palette. Refusing to kowtow to any trends or fads, both he and his collection of analogue hardware have remained highly relevant and well respected for almost 15 years. Naturally this latest EP is no exception. 
We kick off with ‘A G Moment’. Strutting with Detroitian distinction, the groove is awash with thick woozy chords. Instantly captivating, they set the foundations for the dual vocal trickery that follows as the lead loop is complemented by swooning ‘oohs’ in the background. Undiluted galvanised soul, it’s G at his most playful and sonically seductive.
‘So Get Down’ follows with percussive panache. A forthright fusion of thundering kicks and rolling bongos, we’re soon introduced to a cheeky snippet of a very well-known vocal. Guaranteeing that your floor will ride on time, every time, the beautiful simplicity and solidity of this is matchless. 
A firing funk finale, ‘Whant It’ closes the show. Swaggering with full flavoured drum dynamics, Mr G’s trademark hip-shaking infectiousness is in full effect. With just enough space in the swinging rhythm to introduce a sexy, purring vocal and icy star-gazing pads, it’s yet another sensuous showdown.
Another sweat-inducing session from Holic Trax and another exemplary exercise in classic contemporary techno from M G: have yourself ‘A G Moment’ today.

Hashman Deejay returns to Future Times for a sophomore effort, this time in the form of a special-dj-double-pack, "Sandopolis"!!!

We last heard from this dude on his “Tangerine” single for FT; now he’s grown for us a mini-city, six cuts of dense nite/club work straight from the jungles of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, all saturated in the same state of mind high above eye level.

Hashman visits us from the Mood Hut multiverse (home of Aquarian Foundation, Jack J, Pender Street Steppers, Kinetic Electronix, and more), and "Sandopolis" carries forth the luminous, pressurized house vibes that have put the Canadian crew on the map this year. We all saw the Libra constellation a little brighter in 2014; the gang went hard! There's an inherent Hut lushness to the proceedings, but all the ambience, slathered crackle, and treats for the Tripper-Dancer In U come together when combined with the Hashman's dizzy drum machine punch. 

"Xssential-3" starts the collection off in exactly that zone, techno-ambient-dance banging in serene mode. "Statues PF" comes through right on time with the slow world breather. Flip that, and get hit with the zero-swing disco imitation warp of  "Sandfish," a marvelous beast for the DJ crew, and "Mercury," a back and forth house junkyard with mad elevated pads and a bugged sense of fidelity. The second disk comes thru with two elegant epics, the ultra-euphoric fast stepper "Mozaic" and the dopest closer, "184," a psychic, street style house roller complete with dub wisdom and Hashman EFX to the fullest. 

Make no mistake, this is megabliss DJ perfection! This is six tracks of that sweet spot dance, in the tradition of Virgo 4, Stickman Records, or the classic Italian acronym house labels like MBG and DFC. Hashman Deejay comes correct with "Sandopolis," a very pure and focused moment on wax.

This November Burnski delivers four deep cuts on Holic Trax for ‘The Hours’ EP. 
Following the success of Robert Dietz & Tuccillo’s ‘Kushtraxx’ EP which saw major support from the likes of The Revenge, Doc Martin, DJ Sneak, Matthias Tanzmann & Sebo K the ever-impressive Berlin-based Holic Trax imprint returns this November with UK house stalwart Burnski and four punchy originals.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2005 James Burnham aka Burnski has been making waves ever since with a incredible back-catalogue of work that runs across labels such as Real Tone, Saved, 2020 Vision, Poker Flat & Hot Creations to name a few. ‘The Hours’ EP is another sublime deliverance from Burnham, dishing up four deep & dynamic house cuts peppered with Detroit & Chicago influences.
EP opener and title track ‘The Hours’ is a no-nonsense beat down worked over thumping bass & shifting percussion while ‘Visions’ is a gritty off kilter cut that bubbles over rippling drums, oscillating tones and recurring vocals.
On the B-side ‘Movement’ is a groovy record cultivated over thrashing bass, stripped-back drums and arpeggiated chords. For final offering on the vibrant single Burnksi laces the soulful vocals of Beckford over the frisky rhythms and infectious groove of ‘Time’ to finish things off in a raw yet lively fashion.

Stepping up next on Fat! Records we are pleased to introduce Polish duo 'wants', who after featuring in our most recent 'Fat! Club EP013' during the summer, come correct to the fore with their own textbook take, on an unmistakeably sub-heavy, UK sound.

One of the finest songwriters America has ever seen, Bill Withers crafted this song while he was still working at the factory. Recorded for his debut album, this song was regrettably recorded and arraged according to 1971 standards, with the bass drum almost inaudible, and the arrangement code of pop and soul keeping the song to a criminal 3 minutes. This mix attempts to reverse engineer a Tom Moulton mix of a song that never had one, but deeply deserves that kind of love.

This is the second Autonomous Africa EP, the idea being that one EP is released each year and all proceeds are donated to a charity in Africa. Last year's first volume raised funds for Médecins Sans Frontières operations in Africa. This release will raise funds for the Mtandika Mission in Tanzania (more info on that below). Through speaking with Midland, i found out that he grew up in Tanzania and that his parents ran the aforementioned charity so I suggested that this release aimed to contribute to that. Midland and Auntie Flo (who also contributed to the first edition of this project) both kindly donated exclusive tracks.

Why Autonomous Africa?

----------------------


Many of the problems Africa faces are a result of outside interference by other countries, and as the 21st century progresses we will see the continued pillage of African resources to feed the global capitalist machine on an unprecedented scale. Corrupt and greedy regimes gladly sell their land and mineral wealth to finance their own extravagant lifestyles while the vast majority of ordinary people see little or no improvement in their own lives. An autonomous Africa run by the people for the people, where African land is predominantly used to feed African people and Africa's vast wealth of resources is used to benefit the people of Africa seems the only logical way forward. Autonomous Africa's goal is to highlight this message and here presents to you 4 tracks of African inspired grooves.


We fully realise a small run, independently released 12" is going to make very little difference to the world, but doing something has to be better than doing nothing. The idea of an autonomous Africa may be naive and unrealistic, but at some point the world we live in will have to change or future generations are going to be left with very little as we consume way more than our fair share. We have collectively buried our heads in the sand thinking we are powerless to engender change. Individually we have little power but collectively, the power is ours.

About The Mtandika Mission
--------------------------

Mtandika is a large village in the dry Ruaha river valley, 400km west of Dar es Salaam. It is a very poor village.

One of the prime movers in the village is Sister Barberina Mhagala. Since she retired from being Headmistress of the Primary School in 2005, Sister Barberina has been developing a Trade School at Mtandika to provide skills training for girls who are either orphans or have no fees for secondary education. She started by building a classroom and dormitory for the Trade School girls who were given sewing lessons and learning to make garments to sell.

Because many of the children do not have homes locally, accommodation is critical. So Sister then built extra accommodation blocks, not only for some of the girls attending the Trade School but also for some 80 girls attending the local Lukosi Secondary School where there was no accommodation.

The girls are taught to be as self sufficient as possible and as well and grow their own food and rear animals in the school grounds.

Water supply is critical, as water is not only required for every day purposes at the school but for irrigating the shambas [allotments]. Water is currently pumped from the nearby perennial Lukosi river some 500 metres away using a petrol pump. Investigations into a cheaper alternative are being investigated.

Education is essential if Tanzania is to fully develop its full potential and anything is possible given the opportunity. As well as supporting Sister Barberina in her capital expenditure, some 10 of the children at the Trade School and 30 at local Secondary Schools who cannot afford the fees are sponsored by funds raised by the charity.
