Tools manipulated in an old workshop, clocks slowed down, the spinning wheel of a rusty bike, children playing near a church, the sound of the wind in Norfolk, climbing up the stairs in a disused windmill, ghost echoes. Those are some sounds that constitute the atmosphere of The Silent Watcher. Presented in their raw form or heavily processed, they all relate to old memories, often blurred and incomplete; the aural equivalent of a faded polaroid. From field recordings, layers are created, manipulated, taken apart and rebuilt and soon begin to tell a story - a story often buried under droney textures and fragmented melodies and only partially revealed, but more often distorted and reconstructed.

Dåbermann is an electronic collective, consisting of Chris Muller, Timo Schmitz and Niklas Froese. They used to meet every now and then to improvise using Ableton and various gear and instruments. 

Back in 2011 we were planning on an album release together so the guys packed up and booked a beatiful remote little house in the woods for two weeks as a creative retreat of sorts. On their way there a storm broke and one of them got hit by a lightning. Nothing bad happened but for obvious reasons they couldn't focus on recording music and that's about all there is to it :)

This recording of one of their jam sessions dates back from 2009 and it has definitely stood the test of time. Maybe someday new stuff will surface, you never know..

Vorfreude. Wärme. Veränderung. Die Übergänge in diesem Set sind wie der Übergang vom Winter zum Frühling: Mal langsam und vorhersehbar, mal schnell und überraschend. Nur eins ist sicher: "After Winter Must Come Spring". Nach all den Frühlingssets, die bereits hier auf SoundCloud rumschwirren, konnte ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen, den Beginn der schönsten Jahreszeit ebenfalls mit einem Set zu feiern. Dass es dann auch noch für KLANGEXTASE ist, freut mich umso mehr.
