Aerion has DJed for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beastie Boys, Bjork, Pantera, and Deli to Dublin, to name a few.
She has performed along side Mat the Alien, Self Evident, Daega Sound, Taalmala, Michael Red, Scotty Stylus, Emog, 5LINK, Beats with out Borders, Funk Hunters, Miss Kosmik, Kytami, Kasey Riot, and countless others.

Years of DJing/VJing and involvement in festivals such as Bass Coast, Shambhala, Diversity, Electric Love, Bonfire, Under the Volcano, Vibe, Hi Society, Sublunar, Intention, Solaris, etc.... and decades of underground parties have shaped and evolved her sound into an eclectic mash up of any and all electronic genres... woven to suit the subtleties of the moment with loving care and passion.

Her early years as a DJ began in 1986 while attending Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Her début at Vancouver’s 'Celebrities Nightclub' brought the house down with a three hour eclectic Industrial-trance set. She continued along those lines, mixing the CRÈME DE LA CRÈME of Electronic, Industrial, Metal, Punk, Ska, World, Jazz and Classical music through out B.C. and Alberta, while at the same time producing 'Dance Jams' and a weekly 'Wakefield' series of dance parties, as well as a myriad of hot local events in the Sunshine coast of B.C.
She moved to Chile in 1995 where she DJ’d at Santiago based night clubs 'OZ' and 'Blondi' and many underground dance parties affiliated with the 'Euforia' team which is still going strong.
In 1997 she moved to Quito, Ecuador to be the resident DJ at an Acid Jazz club called the 'Zoo’. Returning to Canada in 1999, she left her old sound down south and began a decade-long love affair with Drum and Bass, spinning her magic and producing events through out B.C., Alberta, Washington and Mexico.
Her sound these days has evolved to include a vast range of genres, giving the dance floor what it yearns for in the moment, as her insatiable taste for fresh new sounds feeds her ever changing style.

Aerion (Marcy Solis de Ovando) has had a long and steady musical career, beginning at the age of 10 when she purchased her first shoulder strapped tape recorder. She roller-skated around recording every sound that captured her ears... everything from 70s radio, to random ambient life. She began making tape-loops by cutting and splicing and then re-recording them, layer over layer, creating her own brand of sound. 'I shot the sheriff' looped with parents love making moans, birds chirping, children's laughter, car tires screeching, train whistles in the distance, the steady rhythm of a washing machine, a cat in heat, etc... all mixed in with the vinyl tracks she playfully worked on her Mickey Mouse turn tables.
She was the kid playing fresh tracks at every birthday party... and still is.

Josh is a multi-talented electronic music composer, producer, DJ and lifelong musician, living on the Sunshine Coast of BC, Canada. He has taken his talent, love, and dedication for music, and together with discipline, turned them into outstanding ability, always keeping the integrity of his music as the North Star that guides him.

With close to two decades of working in electronic music production, he has released over fifty tracks worldwide. These include solo productions, collaborations, and remixes on various international labels released under his new solo project TAMARAK, and also with the duo DAEGA SOUND, in partnership with his brother Ben Searles.

First discovered by Mary Anny Hobbs in 2008 she supported his solo tunes on her BBC1 Radio show. Vinyl, CD and digital formats of Josh’s releases are on various labels including Hatched Music, Black Box, CX:Digital, Deep Heads, Tuba, Muti Music, Interchill, Car Crash Set, East Van Digital, Really Good Recordings, Fathom Recordings, and Echo Dub.

Over the last decade, as a member of Vancouver’s DJ and producer collective LIGHTA!, Josh has been a builder and supporter of both the local, national and international bass music scene. Actively touring the electronic music festival circuit, he has played numerous Canadian festivals including Shambhala, Bass Coast, Mutek, New Forms, MEME, Motion Notion, Astral Harvest and Om. With Daega Sound and his original DJ moniker      Deep Six, he has toured within Canada, down the coast of California, and over to the UK. He has shared the stage and released music alongside some of Dubstep, and Drum and Bass’ most influential producers and DJ’s.

Josh’s dedication to the acoustic classical guitar balances his love for sound design, synths, drum machines, and computers. As a classical artist, he currently studies with world-renowned Brazilian virtuoso guitarist Maestro Celso Machado, absorbing from him the different sounds and styles of Brazilian guitar music. In addition to his studies with Maestro Machado, he is preparing for his ARCT in classical guitar. He has participated in master classes with world-class guitarist Daniel Bolshoy (head of guitar U Georgia) and GFA winner Marc Teicholz, San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Josh artfully combines his classical musical training with his gifts for electronic music composition and his years of extensive production and performance experience. He has written scores for short films that have played at the Vancouver International Film Festival (CAN) the Videobardo Buenos Aires (ARG), Northwest Film Fest Portland (US), and the Native American Film Festival New York (US) and also licensed original music for video productions.

Moving ahead, Josh will be touring his new project TAMARAK, performing classical guitar concerts, writing more music for film and TV, and always further developing his creative multi-faceted musical ideas/career.
