Back in the day, Mt. Doyle was known for his smooth taste in Drum & Bass and his unmatched love for pizza. But it wasn't long before Doyle expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful West Coast flavour. He quickly became a staple in the BC electronic music scene, known not only for his multi-genre sets but his range of recorded mixes as well.

Over the past 10 years, Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over the North West, including Shambhala, Lightning In A Bottle, Rifflandia, Electric Love, Wicked Woods, Friendzy Fest, Fozzy Fest, Bamboo Bass, Astral Harvest, Ska Fest, Sun Fest and The Tall Tree Festival. In that time he’s shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Camo & Krooked, Ed Solo, A.Skillz, Stickybuds, The Funk Hunters, Chali 2na, JFB, Dub FX, Rusko, Technimatic, LSB & DRS, Serial Killaz, Dub Pistols, Ray Keith, Netsky and Andy C.

In 2016 Mt. Doyle started The Hydration Mix Series, a monthly Liquid Drum & Bass podcast with DJs Akela, Willisist, Erski, Reflektor, Lasu and DJ Surgeon. Later that year Doyle took on a whole new style as he joined the ranks of Victoria based Hip-Hop band Illvis Freshly, where he made his singing debut. Now, when he's not solo, you can catch his live set with Doyle on vocals and Philly on the guitar.

Over the years Mt. Doyle has established himself as one of the most versatile DJs on Vancouver Island. With a mountainous lust for music and style that keeps you guessing, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time, any place, with whatever the hell he wants.

Deep in the woods (or on a crowded dance floor) you'll find her... A wild Caraboo in her natural habitat. Mixing genres of all kinds, Caraboo's sound ranges heavily from Chill Mid-Tempo Electronica, to Funky 'Feel Good' House, all the way to the smooth sultry sounds of Liquid Drum & Bass. Self described as a "mood provider", she has a passion for sharing music that creates a feeling, provides an inviting energy, and leaves everyone on the dance floor smiling. Get ready friends, because Caraboo is gonna' make you move.

BIOGRAPHY :

Rising from Montreal’s underground to perform in Latin America & Europe at major festivals like Glastonbury, GUAPO is an explosive DJ, producer and guitarist whose Bass Music mixes regularly rank Top 5 on Mixcloud’s Global Charts. 

He collaborated live and/or in the studio with Grammy & Juno Award winners (Youth, Luisito Quintero, Alpha Yaya Diallo), as well as seminal artists Adrian Sherwood, Luke Vibert & Blurum13. He produced songs on six albums by world-beat pioneers Suns of Arqa. 

As Music Coordinator & DJ for fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier & Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté he performed at elaborate events with crowds of over 15,000 spectators. 

He hosts monthly radio shows on CKUT 90.3 FM & LaFaceB. As composer & music supervisor for Film & TV, he was nominated for a Jutra Award and worked on projects for Netflix, Universal, Showcase...  

Guapo is co-founder of Flamingo Funk, which booked bass music headliners Krafty Kuts and Mista Trick to tour Canada. After closing for both of these icons and delivering five incendiary festival closing sets, he has carved out a niche as a closer. 

MUSICAL STYLES :

His Bass Music sets celebrate sample culture, blending Funk, Soul, Blues, Reggae, Rock, Punk, Latin, Brazilian, Disco, Metal, Swing, Balkan and Hip-Hop—chopped, glitched and remixed into Glitch Hop, Ghetto Funk, Breaks, Bass House, UK Garage, DnB, Reggae Jungle and Swing n Bass. 

An electric showman, he thrives on crowd interaction, fueling a party atmosphere of absurd, anarchic fun. His sets are a wild experience, driven by badass bass from the bowels of Hell !

While his main focus these days is Bass Music, Guapo is versatile in other genres.

His HOUSE MUSIC sets are a seamless fusion of tribal percussion, Afro Beat Funk, Latin sophistication and Brazilian sensuality, expertly layered with soulful disco House and funky Electro.

In his WORLD MUSIC sets, he weaves a tapestry of sounds from India, the Middle East, the Maghreb and Anatolia, melding them with the  resonant vibrations of Dub, Downtempo, Breakbeat, and Deep House. Taking listeners on a journey across continents and cultures.

His DOWNTEMPO performances are an eclectic blend of Jazz, Soul, Reggae, Brazilian-Latin Lounge, and Hip Hop, infused with the melancholy atmospheric textures of Chillstep, Trip Hop and Synth Pop.  Offering a laid-back experience that hits you right in the feels.
