Tom (https://soundcloud.com/tom-2020) and I now present track 2 in our collaborative album in progress "La belle et le loup, ou Les loups du Gévaudan" (2023), or in English translation "Beauty and the Beast, or The Wolves of Gevaudan").

The song was created in collaboration on 4 October 2023 (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix in MAGIX by Tom), 10 October 2023 (additional instruments, melodies and sound effects, recording and arrangement in GarageBand and Logic Pro, with an intermediate mix in Logic Pro by Alex M), and 11 October 2023 (final additions, arrangements and mix in MAGIX by Tom), and posted here on SoundCloud on 13 October 2023 (by Alex M). We are grateful for the use of vocal samples from the package "Magix Trance - The Vocal Trance" purchased and integrated into the music by Tom.

The artwork cover for the track is based on a photo by Tom of 11 September 2013 that was cropped and annotated in Mac OS Preview by Alex M and Tom in coordination on 8 October 2023.

Das Akkordeon.
Ein Musikinstrument das nach meinem Empfinden völlig in seinem Nuancenreichtum an Klangfeinheiten unterschätzt wird.

Minimalistisch und zart zugleich habe ich versucht eine kleine Komposition dem Akkordeon zu widmen.

Weit ab von den üblichen Hörgewohnheiten in die man meistens ein Akkordeon vermutet, habe ich einen anderen Weg des musikalischen Ausdrucks gewählt.

Hören Sie bitte von Anfang bis zum Ende. Das Akkordeon erzählt eine feine, meditative Geschichte. Die jeder frei interpretieren darf.

The accordeon.
A musical instrument that, in my opinion, is completely underestimated in its wealth of nuances and subtleties of sound.

Minimalist and delicate at the same time, I tried to dedicate a small composition to the accordion.

Far from the usual listening habits that one would usually expect an accordion to fit in, I have chosen a different path of musical expression.

Please listen from beginning to end. The accordion tells a delicate, meditative story. Which everyone is free to interpret.

This was brought to us by Mark, who had written it a while back, but wanted to dust it off and give the Eclectic Collective a shot at it. He recorded it with a keen eye toward collaboration with an electric piano synth with heavy stereo tremolo. We just recently found Mark, and he has proven to be a very creative, passionate, and easy to work with collaborator—all the good things. 
  Mark set it loose to Josh first, who of course got Ken in on the act before anything else could transpire. After Ken added his wildly creative, very skillful drum beat, Josh was able to come up with a suitable bass line. He also came up with the lap slide part you hear with the heavy tremolo. Then they turned it over to Stephen, who added a very psychedelic, electrifying solo at the end. Also, JJ set upon it with a very hooky organ. 
  Last, but certainly not least, MD came up with the lyrics, which are a metaphor for trying to break into the business of music, and delivered his fiery vocals, too. Then, we all realized that the song wasn't long enough for our ambitions, so Ken came up with an idea for the arrangement, and lengthened the song to suit our needs. He also very ably mixed and produced this one for us. We had a lot of fun working on Mark's tune. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
