Welcome everyone to 2022... another fantastic year of guest mixes awaits us, and we kick off in style with London based duo, Jive Talk. Since forming, the two friends (Jonny & Sam) have played an impressive array of the UK’s best parties and festivals, as well as hosting their own ‘Jive Talk & Friends’ stage takeovers at the much loved Noisily and Gottwood Festivals, the latter for which they're now official residents. 
Over the last 3 years they’ve released a fine array of wax on the likes of Gottwax, Tropical Disco Records, Semi Delicious, Midnight People, and Saint Wax, to name a few...  as well as their own imprint, Not For You. 
Their releases mirror their eclectic DJ style – covering a range of sounds and influences. Expect to see much more from this fruity twosome over the coming year with plenty of exciting gigs and releases on the horizon.

Equal parts atmospheric, driving, and eerie, Beacon Lights is a haunting single that is part of Narrow Skies' ongoing 'Earth' project. The song features lyrical themes of destruction and desolation, sung in an almost-unsettlingly ethereal tone by lead vocalist Anita Tatlow, and accompanied by deep percussion, layers of expansive synths, and cinematic male vocals.

'Josh Butler welcomes fresh talent to his prominent Origins imprint in the form of Inflair who unleashes a highly danceable and strong four track EP titled ‘Authenticity EP’ 

With pristine and clear production the future is clearly bright for the young up and coming UK artist Inflair, who has previously released on Satori London along with self releasing via his own Bandcamp page, and now he steps it up with a very strong release via Butlers Origins imprint.

The first track on the EP is called ‘Keep It Real’ which blends the realms of house and deep house and is full of elegance. Its deep and rolling feel is one that will have floors moving and people smiling from its uplifting and energetic feel.

Next up is ‘Sunrise’ where Inflair takes things deep and emotive. Swirling pads and pushing chords form the basis of this track and this is a classy affair that’s perfect for when the need for a certain chic ambience is required. Following on from this is the aptly named ‘Sunset’ which is a lucid dream pad laden journey of deep house which is the perfect sound for when the sunset is setting and people are getting ready for a night out. 

To finish off this excellent EP is ‘Tell Ya’ where Inflair adds some breakbeat to this EP and delivers a track loaded with depth and a subtle power that will work in many situations. It’s a beauty to listen to and also throw into a set when playing to a crowd who are up for a journey and experience quality music that is anything but generic.'

When selecting tracks for this mix I wanted to spotlight sounds from the 90s and some of the producers that have influenced the music I play out today - some of which includes Kerri Chandler, Masters at Work and Grant Nelson. I also picked a vocal track by the legendary singer Barbara Tucker whose voice was so influential during that period and still is today. Focusing on Vocal and Garage House with some Gospel influences, from ’89 til today, theses records come from across the Atlantic, from different states in America and a few more close to home. I felt inspired to play records that I have found while digging over this summer, and ones that resonate with the sounds that I am currently listening to.
