It is not an album format, but far more than merely an EP. 'Picture:' is various dancefloor-oriented facettes of one producer, shaping the imagery that ultimately results in the listeners mind. Acclaimed techno mavens Mind Against bring their highly-anticipated return to Tale Of Us' Afterlife imprint with 'Days Gone'.

The title track of their upcoming EP is a chiming, multi-layered arrangement raising an ethereal take on the techno genre. The label describes the production as cosmic, with spiraling synth lines and a beating drum.

For our latest Seladorian adventure, chapter 82 no less, we welcome back to the fold a potent partnership who have previous with the label, German Producer Florian Kruse and the self proclaimed South African slam poet, Lazarusman. 

The duo previously teamed up for one of our highlights of 2017 with their ‘Proof Of Life’ release which found favour from all quarters of the electronic cognoscenti and now they return with another standout in the majestic, ’Breathe’. 

Built upon Florian’s tight pulsating groove, Lazarus extols the benefits of that simple, life sustaining action we all largely take for granted in his own unmistakable, idiosyncratic style. It’s a winning combination. Listen up. 

The task of remixing Breathe falls to a producer who we are overjoyed to have on the label. In fact, we are truly honoured to have the World’s first ever Frankey solo production whilst his regular recording partner Sandrino is absent on maternity leave following the birth of his first child. 

No stranger to being in the studio alone of course, Frank has flown solo before under his other alias, Beckers, and he shows off his own personal production prowess yet again here with a deeper rework that had us purring from the get-go. 

To complete the package, Florian also throws further fuel on the fire with ’Skyarp’. Like so many of the bonus tracks we have on our EPs at Selador, they’re not just here to make up the numbers, they’re all star players in their own right and here’s another that demands your attention. A peak time, acid laced monster that’ll set pulses racing.

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Giorgia Angiuli helms SVT218 in her trademark vibrating manner, offering up a total of five tracks, with newcomer Sam Shure and seasoned duo Moonwalk in charge of the remixes. Colourful and vivid - two words that not only describe Giorgia’s appearance, but her overall performance and production style. The classically trained singer and producer is known for using an array of toy instruments to shape her sound, a versatility that makes its mark throughout the EP.

Enlisting the talents of Einmusika and Katermukke alumnus Lake Avalon, the artists put together a captivating, string-heavy piece centered around a meandering bassline entitled You Caress.

Moonwalk take on remix duties, morphing the track into an intense synth-heavy construction coiled around the soaring vocal.

No Body No Pain dives into the dark corners of melodic Techno through a whirlwinding exploration full of dynamism, while Because I Like It blends grave synths with dreamy atmospheres, courtesy of Angiuli’s ethereal vocal delivery.

Sam Shure’s remake is infused with the emotional energy of the original, whilst plunging into its own wormhole of glitched vocals and undulating synth loops.

Extraordinary pieces of music have long stood in direct correlation to the physical surroundings that inspire them. When Oliver Koletzki and Niko Schwind packed up their Berlin studios last April to spend a month locked away in a cottage nestled in the stunning nature of Cape Town’s Noordhoek area before heading to AfrikaBurn, little did they know that its long beaches, dramatic mountain views and the heritage of its indigenous people would have such a profound effect on the club-ready sound they had championed with a string of EPs and live-performances since 2015. The result of four weeks of geo-cultural stimuli and creative experimentation culminated in the album Noordhoek, released in May 2018 on Stil vor Talent.

While the productions on Noordhoek display the same on-point sound design of previous Oliver Koletzki and Niko Schwind releases, the impressive emotional depth and electronic floor-focus of its twelve tracks effortlessly merge with complex rhythmic textures to form a contemporary narrative on ancient dance rituals. After a roller coaster ride through twelve versatile yet coherent productions, one thing is certain as the ultimate crack of thunder crashes down on Noordhoek: South Africa fuelled the creative energy of two remarkable musicians, who where able to translate the abundance of their impressions into a truly original world of sound.

Oliver Koletzki & Niko Schwind - Mawensi [Snippet]

Sequentia 2 is the second chapter of the four fold composition that Luciano has arranged as part of the celebration for Cadenza’s 15th anniversary. Every release is dedicated to a season of the year, and this autumn one, consisting in dimmer tones and snug vibrations, displays all of Luciano’s unique productions skills and his unrivalled touch on the mixing desk.
The initial suspended piano lullaby of “Sphere” brings us to a warm hearth where all the waveforms connect together to make us feel at home, in celestial peace. “Idilicia” is the perfect musical score for an out of space epopee, in which frosted acoustic drums sustain a copious mantle of analogue synthesisers and twiggy artificial harmonies. The sophisticated phrasing “Aether” is a gentle journey above full-bodied bass lines that exudes a romantic tale, flowing into idyllic sanguine chords. At the end, the uplifting tumultuous ballad with a mystical folk aftertaste named “My Fantasy”, bonds exquisitely the sweet taste of a vagrant guitar with hefty deep frequencies and a cluster of compelling Latin percussions; through this thick charming groove, the melancholic magnetic voice of Bastian Baker accompanied by a joyful scintillating choir unwind our souls and our tomorrow. Bastian is a Swiss gifted singer and songwriter, who, at only 18 years old, made his first appearance at the prestigious Montreal Jazz Festival.

“Cancion Mapuche” is an heart-felt dance floor tune with the charming Mapudungun singing of Kathy Prado: Mapundungun is the language of the Pre-Columbian Mapuche inhabitants of south-cantal Chile. The roots of Luciano are South American, and the spirit of his beloved native continent has never left his soul. Throughout the years, Cadenza has released many artists from Latin America, passionately supporting the hot-blooded electronic musical output of this lively part of the planet. Strengthening the connection with his birthplace, Luciano will bring back the extraordinary Magik Garden Festival in late 2019 in Luciano's in his cherished Santiago de Chile. This song is about the Mapu angels, the ancient guardians of southern Chile, which have become stars after their death and are asking us to believe in them again, as our disconnection is putting in danger the nature spirit of the world. A strong compressed kick drum is the foundation of this tune, in which widespread percussions and bouncing cymbals surround an emotional ground shaking bass line and cradling guitars. A souls-stirring work of art that succeed to nestle on dance moves a sincere reflection on our suffering Earth.

The marvellous Chilean blooded "Llovizna", produced by the talented Felipe Venegas & Francisco Allendes was originally released in 2009 on Cadenza 40th vinyl release. We are delighted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its publication with a crisp remix by the mighty Luciano and a rework hot off the press by its original writers. Furthermore, there will be another heavyweight remixer,a big surprise and an appreciated comeback: Loco Dice need no introduction, and his remix of this Cadenza classic leaves us speechless. A magnificent bond of the original latin vibes and astonishing peak-time sound manipulation with a relentless pace. The remixes and the rework will be released both on a vinyl E.P. and in digital format.
"Llovizna" is a track with an indissoluble bound with Cadenza's South America roots, a bound perpetually fortified by the origin of many of the artists involved with the label, and by the choice to host amazing massive events in Chile and in the rest of the continent. A funky bass line and full- bodied reverberating jazz drums make out Luciano's bubbly and shiny remix. The cutting edge climactic sequencing of its synthesisers and the seasoned use of percussive breaks and fills exalt the emotional interlude of the folkloric female Latin chant, just before a fully fledged dancefloor oriented restart.
The rework delivered by Felipe and Francisco starts off banging with a resolved bass drum, rattling shakers and fierce hi-hats. Subtle melodies slowly raise from its minimalistic framework revealing in advance all the sweetness of its Andean singing. A majestic rework, which resonates far beyond from a dj tool aftertaste.

Francisco Allendes & Felipe Venegas - Llovizna (Luciano Remix)(CAD121) [teaser]

Basaec is the label founded by Cadenza chief Luciano as an output for the music of its roots, coming from the Chilean prosperous archives or from brand new productions.

The fourth episode of the series features two extended fleshy cuts of thick dance floor nourishment. “Nature Reverance” is a grandiloquent obscure hypnotic journey to the center of the Earth, permeated of bass frequencies and jazzy drums, exalted by a slithering capturing Leslied organ.

Less inward-looking but still thousands leagues under the sea, “Trance Ilvana” has a shuffled prancing rhythm over an ultra funky stripped down bass line; its swooshes’ and its drops of juicy synthetic quirks sticks smoothly with its driving bass drum.

A generous condensation of timeless electronic funk, and a kaleidoscope of Lucien Nicolet early allure, hard coded in his DNA.
