where silence gives birth to the most profound expressions,
contrapuncting the noise of our world.

This is the 2nd movement of my Symphony "Alive!".

Composed in the silence, solitude and fears of the Pandemic Lockdown.

Massilia 2

This is a musical story about an astronaut that has to leave the space station in order to perform a critical and urgent task.
It's composed around a minimalist piano theme that had a strong emotional effect on me when I first discovered it.

Ce n’est pas parce que je ne fais rien
que je m’ennuie, 
je ne fais que créer de l’espace pour ce qui est encore à venir 
L’espace où je peux aller plus profondément 
Dans les néants silencieux 
Mon état naturel de permettre à l’écoute... 
Être. 
Accepter ce qui est 
et ce qui n’est pas 
L’espace entre mon corps et mon esprit 
où je me contente d’observer que 
je n’ai besoin de rien quand je suis ici 
parce que je me sens comme chez moi 
J’ai l’impression que la partie de moi

Space

"Losing You" delves into the  personal experience of losing someone you love due to Alzheimer’s or dementia.  It's about those moments when the connections to who they were are fractured and lost, and the clarity they once had about their identity becomes uncertainty as they fade away. This track captures the emotional weight of navigating through confusion and the search for understanding in the midst of inner chaos.
Dedicated to anyone who's experienced the pain of losing a loved one in this way, this song is a tribute to resilience, love and the memories that live on in our hearts.

I wrote this song the same day I got the news from my daughter that she was pregnant and I was going to be a grandfather for the first time in my life (22 weeks ago). It's been resting until now waiting for the perfect lyrics come to me, fine tuning the mix and soundscape. Who better then Raffaella to do the vocals to my lyrics from my daughters perspective, thank you Raffaella 🫶.

In life, there are events for which it is not always possible to anticipate or master and for which, it is legitimate to be more concerned, more stressed than usual. As a result, music often helps to pass this cape, from this very disturbed daily moment. 
Here, it could be the image with expressive resonances of this very particular episode ....

Beyond The Light ....

Please enjoy my latest offering to you all. It is another seagoing inspired track. Over the years I have seen many deep ocean whales in their natural setting but only once have I seen a pod and it was awesome. There must of been at least twenty of them spread across the bow at distance. I immediately reported my sightings to the captain who immediately stopped engines.  He went on to explain that in this situation you have two choices you can go hard to starboard or port depending on our postion relative to the whales course or simply stop the engines and take in the view explaining the chances of seeing another pod this large is very remote. this all happened long before smartphones came along so we had no way of recording the event. This took place when I was nineteen and I am now 71 and it is a memory that has stayed with me all these years. So I say to all our fantastic young people .... You are at the stage in your life were you are creating your memories .... .don't waste a minute. Thank you all for the great support you give me.... love and peace..
