Ingvar Tautra https://soundcloud.com/agnosturaelwar recently posted a group of instrumental tracks for open collaboration. One of them was a charming solo guitar that really spoke to me, but also seemed a little lonely up there all by itself. It is the first thing you will hear. I added to it only minimally, a bass and two guitars.

THE RUSH OF THE RACE AND THE CALM AFTER | SHORT TALES PART VI

This vivid and lively piece for three acoustic guitars is made as a continuation of my Short Tales Series. As the title implies wild flurries of notes are followed up by the guitars in sequence and in unison, chasing , each challenging the other. Twists and turns follow into happy, mysterious, elated, restless and melancholic passages, always in movement. I find great joy in coming up with unexpected harmonies that can come from many different styles. In this sense this series doesn’t follow any strict style or form. Parts, especially the lead guitar are improvised. The ending has a little surprise so don’t leave too soon... Wait for it! ;)

I play my Flamenco Negro guitar strung with a new type of carbon strings for acoustic guitar by Knobloch ACTIVES CX carbon medium tension recommended by flamenco meastro Antonio Rey.

I hope you will enjoy this sixth Short Tale and as always I really enjoy your likes, comments and shares.

The chords progression on this track  came  to me with  classic  textures , sort of an  impressionist contemplative country vision  ...full of light and warmth  ... and  piano textures ... this  then matured and turned onto  a sort of gospel idea involving the clarinet ... and happy warm wishful feelings ...just around Christmas time .. so it is a bit of an improbable mix between  Gospel and what I understand from Monet or Manet  .. I hope you enjoy this original Christmas song full of good intentions  ... in troubled and cold  times .. All the best Steph

This site is for my musical avatar or alter ego. Architect/partner/company owner by day, I find myself playing guitar and writing these tracks in afterhours, at nights, evenings, when in need of a dose of guitar sounds. You will find a wide range of guitar oriented music, ranging from Jazz to Blues, Flamenco to Classical, Rock to Fusion. And many collaborations with some great musicians.

I have been playing guitar since I was 11 years old, largely self-taught and have tried different styles and instruments: Renaissance lute, flamenco guitar, classical guitar, steel string guitar and electric guitar with which I have been playing in styles ranging from rock and metal in my early years to classical music, some American Folk music, jazz rock, prog rock, flamenco nuevo and fusion.

It’s been a splendid time here so far, in collaborating with a lot of brilliant musicians on SoundCloud and sharing ideas and the passion for music. 
My collaborations are with musicians that I have a deep respect for and have a mutual appreciation for real instruments, and musical styles that focus on letting the instruments “shine”.

Currently I am using Amplitube and Auria on an iPad as DAW with Final Touch for mastering. For acoustic recording I use an Apogee microphone.
