Spring is a season defined by hope, we’re emerging from a long winter spent indoors to the promise of this brighter season. It’s the promise of returning to warm nights spent dancing in starlight, and of embracing new and old friends after too many months spent apart, sheltering from the dark and cold.

But now the days are longer, and the city suddenly feels alive, humming away once again.

This spring, we’ve brought together new stories from talented musicians around the world for the third instalment of our Seasons series.

Each producer crafts a unique musical tapestry, often using thumping drums, beautiful synthetic melodies, and haunting vocal samples to capture the pure jubilation of spring and excitement for what lies ahead.

European producer with Ukrainian roots, Nikolina (LDN) joins Bar 25 Music with the debut EP recorded for the label. Track ¨Moonlight¨ was created together with Andréa Ararê — shamanic practitioner and healer born and raised in Brazil. A truly genuine tandem for a powerful organic house work. As the artist says, “the moontime is considered a time of power, second only to the ability of the Great Spirit to give life. I was inspired by upcoming changes in my life. The changes that come with each passing moon indicate the times for planting, harvesting and gathering”.

The original track comes with a remix by Watergate club resident, Berlin based rising star — Yulia Niko. A groovy melodic house rework with the strong ready-to-hit-the-dance-floor energy.

Berlin-based, Franco-German producer and DJ Franz Matthews alongside well-known happiness coach Jonathan Lehmann (Les Antisèches du Bonheur) has crafted a beautifully hypnotic EP that combines the practice of guided meditation through narration and music as one.
Collating remixes from a spread of some of the greatest minds in electronic music today, including Aera (Innervisions), The Organism (Disco Halal) and Milio (half of the duo Tunnelvisions, Atomnation) to create their unique interpretations of this pioneering project of mind and music.
Franz Matthews’s original brings a complex web of interlocking percussion rhythms that develop with unfolding synths throughout the guided meditation. Transporting us on a journey through the mind with a captivating piece of musical story-telling throughout.

'Italy's Nihil Young returns to Poesie Musik to stir tensions and set up trip wires around every corner, with a deep melodic and tech house double set to stretch his international reputation and multi-million streaming numbers further and wider.  'Truth Tribe' hires the charismatic, enigmatic vocal of Beacon Bloom to think of Dirty Vegas' 

'Days Goes By'; watching the dancefloor unfold, Young creates an enhanced drama to get caught up in, moodiness and at times ghostliness illuminated by a smooth network of synth codes.  

'Wormwood' maintains the pressure of tech house working undercover, staying melodic with synth sequences skimming across Young's state of anticipation. Subtle vocal hallucinations brush the surface, dented by bass patterns in no mood for games.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the spring season by welcoming Ruben Karapetyan back to the label for his debut single. Following a ten-year hiatus, the Armenian-born, USA-based artist made a triumphant return to electronic music in 2020 with a series of the releases via Mango Alley, Movement Recordings and Univak. On the strength of his fresh, progressive sound Ruben quickly earned praise from the genre's trendsetters Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while also becoming a regular in Beatport's competitive sales charts. Having made his first appearance on SLC-6 Music last year with a remix of K Loveski's 'Renzzo', the Los Angeles resident now returns to the label for his first single entitled 'Meteorite', alongside a remix from Jerome Isma-Ae. The Original Mix finds Ruben operating at the peak of his creative powers and aiming squarely for the dance floor. Elasticated synths, delicate chord stabs, percolating effects layers, charged beats and mountainous basslines form the solid structure of the track. An emotive break, complete with thought-provoking vocal samples, puts your senses on high for an exhilarating finale.

Making his label debut, and providing the lone interpretation, is progressive music icon Jerome Isma-Ae. Having remixed the likes of Faithless, Hybrid, Paul Van Dyk and Way Out West, the German artist now overhauls Ruben's 'Meteorite' in fine fashion. Beginning with a subdued pulse, Jerome masterfully builds the energy into an epic main-room stormer. Multi-dimensional stabs, flickering percussive arrangements and deconstructed vocals steal the air, while thunderous grooves and misty tension-filled atmospheres keep attention firmly locked on the dance floor.

The latest venture in their meteoric rise since breaking through in 2016 as BBC Radio 1 Pete Tong's “Ones to Watch” –the label is shaping up to be a promising platform for the Manchester act with the label already enjoying support from across the board from Solomun, Tale Of Us, Adam Beyer and more already.

Hailing from Vancouver, Jordan Gill is a DJ and Producer who's created his distinct, dark and heavy progressive sound by producing and mixing tracks in the underground progressive, progressive techno, and melodic techno scene. Already receiving support from some of the industry big hitters, this release will be no different with both tracks ready for both clubs and the festival circuit alike.
