French DJ and producer Narik returns to the bright side of Polyptych. A proponent of soft melodic progressive house sound, Narik has a wide discography, including releases on such imprints as Einmusika Recordings, Bonzai Progressive, Freegrant Music, and others. He is also undoubtedly already familiar to Polyptych fans from his participation in the Pentaptych compilation series, as well as from his EP "Dodecagon" on Polyptych Limited. This time he presents us with his two-track release "Dreamland", reflecting all the brightest features of Narik's style. The release is supported by a remix by Alfonso Muchacho, which reveals a new side to the B-side track "Carambole", immersing it in a more exciting melodic sound.

Jakhira is a British-born, Belgium-based DJ and producer.
A classically trained musician with a heart that beats to a groove, his signature style is a melting pot of widespread influences.
Compulsively creative whilst ridiculously meticulous, the multi-instrumentalist blends electronic with the organic effortlessly, forging ethereal explorations into sound.

Jakhira’s DJ sets are in high demand and always well received, with notable guest appearances on the podcasts of Bespoke Musik, Magician On Duty, Dream Culture. 
This was further highlighted as Frisky.FM Artist Of The Week, gaining more than double of every other mix on the platform that week.
This lead to his own monthly show on Frisky.FM, called Ethereality. With a greater creative license in radio and podcasting, Ethereality has quickly become known for its expansive take on deep, melodic and -of course- ethereal music without being strictly tied down to one niche subgenre.

Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of February with a new EP from Simos Tagias. Since first emerging nearly a decade ago, the Greek artist has continued to earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Revered imprints such as Higher States, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, meanwhile, Proton Music, Replug and Sudbeat have all served as recent landing spots for his groovy melodic sound. Movement Recordings has also been a comfortable home for the Simos, having released sixteen originals and six remixes since making his debut in 2014 with a contribution to the label's popular Technical Progress series. Now, following 'Vacuum', a well-received single via Dopamine Music to end the year, Simos begins 2024 with his latest Movement Recordings EP 'Katla', alongside remixes from Alex O'Rion and Weird Sounding Dude. Looking to showcase a more melodic side of his repertoire, Simos aims squarely at the dance floor with lead selection 'Katla' The Greek artist masterfully marries astral sonics and emotive lines with punchy kick drums and rolling grooves. An array of melodic hooks and orbiting effects steal the air across the first act, adding texture and depth leading into the heart of the journey.

PREMIERE – Franz Matthews, Johannes Klingebiel – La Traversée (Feines Tier)

Feines Tier veteran Johannes @klingebiel introduces @franz-matthews to the family and together they bring us “Ce Moment” EP, a basket of tunes full of colorful harmonies, bouncy grooves and poetic French lyrics. What more could one wish for?
The two producers and multi-instrumentalists met some years ago in their chosen
hometown Berlin and decided to fuse their producing and multi-instrumentalism game.
The first fruit of this labor was the much-loved and -played “Signs” on Heimlich records, now being followed by this EP here.
The title tune is an amalgamation of groovy electric bass riLs, spicy Prophet synth
sounds, melancholic vocals and certainly has something of that magic ingredient
people call the French Touch. A good tune to pick for House DJs who dig some Disco now and then and for Disco DJs in need of some solid House.
“La Traversée” is a crossing (multi-language pun intended) of bazillions of quirky synth sounds and melodies that somehow form a coherent whole, the sum of its part being a light and friendly but not cheesy house tune, that will make the sun go up on any dancefloor.
The mighty Kompakt overlord @michael-mayer-kompakt takes “Ce Moment” under his spell. The result is a grander and more mysterious aLair, made for bigger and darker dancefloors. The Sound of Cologne™ this is indeed!
Parisian up-and-comer @shimon-earthly adapts „La Traversée” into his sonic world. When Matthews and Shimon discussed the finished remix on the phone in French, all that le dilletant Johannes could understand from it were the words “très cool” and “after-hour vibe” , which… yes, completely tracks!

Cultured house and techno label Kindisch enlists Brooklyn duo Bedouin to present their own entrancing sonic apparition on the latest Kindisch Stories compilation. It was conceived in Tulum, Mexico earlier in the year and draws together 11 original tracks all commission by the label to focus on the listening —rather than dance floor—experience.
Kindisch has been setting its own agenda for ten years now. In that time it has put out 100 releases from the likes of Einzelkind, Samim, Jay Haze, Raz Ohara and more, and offers timeless and constantly evolving music that isn't necessarily always designed for the ‘floor. Bedouin, meanwhile, create their own idiosyncratic melodies and rhythms for labels such as this one as well as CityFox. They have an eclectic vi- sion that pulls from diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, West- ern upbringing and worldly travels.
Here they stray far into the desert and return home with a naturally elegant sound that reflects the duo’s wide musical remit. In Bedouin’s words, “each piece of music gathered, turned out to be a gem that represented a different corner of the world. Each was special in its own way, but all together they organically fit like one beautiful mosaic.”
Starting with their own enchanting passage of deep and absorbing atmospherics, this is a masterfully paced mix that slowly but surely builds without ever getting sweaty. Always supple and heartfelt, tracks like Feathered Sun - ‘Get On’ and ‘Bufo’ from the Brooklynites themselves (one of three original offerings from them) keep things lan- guorous and romantic throughout.
As the mix rolls on, organic piano keys and rubbery synths from Viken Arman and Satori are paired with ever more upright drums, but never do things feel hurried. The second half remains deep and woozy thanks to cuts from LUM, Oceanvs Orientalis and YokoO, with hints of middle eastern melody and widescreen chords, tender vocal wails and romantic late night sax lines all soothing the soul as the grooves slowly se- duce your body.
With this release, Bedouin craft a marvellous mix that sits as well on an early morning dance floor as it does in the headphones at home.
