Plaisirs Sonores Records announce the release of 'Gems, pt. 1', their first-ever VA featuring three talented artists from different parts of the world: Maezbi and Paul (AR), both from Argentina, and Savvas from Greece. The release showcases the unique sounds and styles of each artist, making it a must-listen for fans of electronic music.

Maezbi's track "Wonderland" is a beautiful, easy-listening progressive tune that draws listeners in with its lush synths and soothing melodies, complemented by a beautiful spoken male vocal. Hernan Cattaneo and Marcelo Vasami need little introduction to anyone with a passion for underground house. The Argentinean, a household name, regularly plays to audiences in the tens of thousands across South America and beyond, while his Sudbeat Music imprint is at the forefront of the electronic music scene. Widely known as "El Maestro", Hernan's reputation is assured. Similarly, Marcelo Vasami has been a renowned figure for over a decade with his music on the likes of Plattenbank, Afterglow, Replug and Sudbeat. Joining forces for their Meanwhile debut, the Hernan Cattaneo and Marcelo Vasami remix of "Stuck on a Feeling" immediately captures the light melodic eloquence of the original while adding a plethora of new production layers, not least in a sublime new bassline progression and crisp rolling percussive groove. Familiar refrains and the vocal so prominent in the original, come to the fore as textured and ethereal pads provide an enchanted moment in the final movement.

A growing force under his progressive house guise with releases on Lost and Found, Sudbeat Music and Mango Alley, Mike Rish has hit upon a formula for success since early work for UGENIUS. December 2021 provided the Melbourne resident with the opportunity to make his Mark on GMJ and Matter's imprint as he released his impressive musical triptych, "Beyond". Now returning for a debut remix, the Mike Rish reworking of "Storm Front" is characterised by a deep and chunky bass groove that sits perfectly within a popping, wood-block top-line with its roots firmly in Jamie Stevens' original. Evolving with ease, smooth production elements from the Mike Rish studio make their presence felt before a richly sustained bassline assumes a prominent role in the second half to superb effect.

Navar has been at the forefront of the underground dance scene for more than 15 years with his imaginative approach and immaculately honed sound. 200 production credits are testament to that fact, for such esteemed imprints as Balance, microCastle and Guy J's Lost and Found. November 2022's "Return of the Sun" illuminated Meanwhile in late 2022 as the Dutch star returns for a second remix outing. Reworking the title track, the Navar interpretation is a sparkling jewel that transforms "Circles" into a glorious, arpeggio-laden offering that shimmers with delays and delicate rhythmic cadence in the early stages. Building imperceptibly with bass groove and vocal breaths from the original, it erupts at the mid-point with a driving beat that provides a spine-tingling dancefloor juxtaposition to the smooth melodic sequences, capturing the hypnotic character of Jamie's work.

Clubsonica Records continues a strong spring season by welcoming K Loveski and Geronimo Eguiguren to the label for their debut EP. Russian artist K Loveski has been a beloved figure of the progressive house underground for well over a decade. A series of releases for Omid 16B's Alola Records spearheaded what has been a thirteen-year creative swell. The Saint-Petersburg resident now boasts a resume highlighted by releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Balance Music, Mango Alley and Or Two Strangers, while also earning the support of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J along the way. Meanwhile, Argentinean artist Geronimo Eguiguren has also made his mark since first emerging in 2019. Longstanding imprints Balkan Connection, Droid9 and Soundteller Records were comfortable homes for Geronimo early on. However, it was 2022 which proved to be a breakout year for the Buenos Aires resident, with a release via Antrim's Or Two Strangers yielding play and support from Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Sebastien Leger. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, K Loveski and Geronimo Eguiguren make their Clubsonica debut with 'Chaia | Kamikaze', alongside remixes from Simos Tagias and Ruben Karapetyan.

he first interpretation of 'Kamikaze' is provided by Simos Tagias who returns to the label for his third appearance. Since first emerging a decade ago, the Greek artist has continued to earn the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Revered imprints such as Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Replug and Sudbeat have all served as recent landing spots for his groovy melodic sound. Clubsonica has also been a comfortable home for the Greek artist, having remixed two projects for the label beginning with his debut in 2018. Now, following his latest vehicle for GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile, Simos makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a poignant rendition of 'Kamikaze'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Greek artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, one where redolent themes and heartfelt sonics blanket voluptuous grooves and flashing percussive arrangements. Coming to full fruition across the main break, it's a bucolic college of texture and effects which serves to elevate mood onwards to a thumping finale.

Highly regarded among his peers, the plucky Argentinian has continued to gather pace with stand out tracks for Tale & Tone, onedotsixtwo, and Visceral to name a few. As well as DJ sets across Argentina and a stellar performance for Sudbeat recently at Stereo, Montreal.   

Opening with ‘Vulgare’ John establishes his trademark style early with rolling shakers and muted sonics filtering up over the first section, and with the pace increasing tensions grow. The midsection renders out those threads of melody and the full fleshed out track is powerful and emotive.   Next up, ‘One Dollar’ thunders from the speakers from the off. Deep and dubby, the motifs linger adding tension throughout. A strong mid-set vibe for those big event crowds. Finally, ‘Pink Power’ rounds out the collection with subtle tribal feels. Spiky mid-bass powers the tune along for those head down groovathons he does so well. Peaking at the breakdown, this is one wild ride you’ll want to be on all night long!  '

Claudio and Gustavo (Analog Jungs) have been making music for a long time, showing these years their great skills to produce a personal Progressive House that connects directly with the audience. Perfect grooves, amazing melodic elements, solid and well developed structures are some of the virtues that we can find in their tracks.

Integral Bread @integralbread makes a peculiar remix of 'Connection', ussing a lot of original elements, but re-building them to get a different version, also Progressive but less minimalistic, with a develop that guides us across several different ladscapes.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of May by showcasing new interpretations of 'There' by Jean Caillou. First emerging in 2016, Swiss artist Jean Caillou quickly established himself with releases via Magician On Duty, RYNTH, Sag and Tre and Underyourskin Records, where his deep, melodious sound flourished. Moving forward, July of 2019 saw the Zurich resident make his Sound Avenue debut with a well-received remix of Joe Miller's 'The Days'. Deep and enchanting in equal measure, its organic vibe immediately won over DJs and fans alike, sparking what has been a fruitful relationship between the Belgian imprint and Swiss artist. Now, nearly four years on from his label debut and Jean has recorded two artist EPs and two additional remixes, making him one of Sound Avenue's most steadfast artists. Sitting as a highlight on Caillou's resume has been 'There', a track which served as the lead piece on his first Sound Avenue artist showcase 'Departure Unknown'. Its romantic overtones and intriguing vocal stylings found favour with a cross-section of electronic music tastemakers, while also receiving a progressive oriented remix from Dutch artist Daniel Van Der Zwaag. Now, looking to breathe new life into the track as we enter the summer season, Sound Avenue invites Berni Turletti, Beije and about : river to reimagine the production in their own unique essence.
