Magnitude Recordings revisits one of its most successful releases with a pack of fresh remixes.

'Morning Vibes' by Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat was released last October and gathered loads of praise and support from the global progressive house community. Now it's time for reinterpretations by Magnitude label boss Francesco Pico and Progressive World founder The Wash.

Francesco Pico is on a roll lately with classy releases- and remixes on labels such as Manual Music, MNL and Deep Records. His uplifting rework has a delightful positive vibe to it and marks the return on his own Magnitude Recordings label. And guess what? His new album is coming later this year, so be ready!

The Wash needs little introduction. Being active in the scene sinds 2005 and with releases under his belt on labels such as Mango Alley, YOMO Records, Balkan Connection, Schoenbrunner Perlen and dozens of other quality imprints his reputation is pretty much self explanatory. He provides a strong heady deep builter here, a great counterpart compared to Francesco's more peak time take.

All in all a strong remix single for Kamilo & Dabeat's classic 'Morning Vibes'!

Rounding out what has been a sensational year Tripp Baronner’s Yin imprint revives ‘Memories’ by Hot TuneiK. Much like the US imprint, the Mexican artist has enjoyed perhaps his best year on record. Released in April courtesy of Proton Music, ‘Memories’ was certainly a highlight, currently sitting in his top five best selling tracks for the year while also earning chart support from D-Formation. Yin now calls upon one of the underground’s finest in Lily Pita to bring new life to the track.

With past releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and more recently an appearance on Quivver’s ‘ReKonstruct’ LP, Lily has continued to impress. Her interpretation of ‘Memories’ has turned out beautifully and no doubt foreshadows great things to come in 2019. The integrity of Hot’s groove is well maintained, tightened and more compact however and nicely dialled for the dance floor. On this foundation the Indonesian artist builds a captivating melodic storyboard, as hypnotizing motifs intertwine before a haze of a sonics build to an effervescent sizzle during the main break. A classy rework from Lily which will likely find a home in the sets of progressive music’s finest DJs.

PREMIERE: Sebastian Sellares - Epiphany In The Woods (Golan Zocher Remix) [Or two strangers]

Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint welcomes Sebastian Sellares to the label with 'Epiphany In The Woods'. Also known under his previous moniker Monje, Sebastian hails from one of Argentina’s most talent rich regions in Cordoba. His smooth progressive minded sound has become a favourite amongst old and new school fans of the genre, landing him releases on ICONYC, PHW Elements and Massive Harmony Records. Now fresh off an EP for AMITABHA to begin the year, Sebastian debuts on Or Two Strangers alongside remixes from Simply City and Golan Zocher. 

The title and showcase piece ‘Epiphany In The Woods’ leads the release off with a smooth, melodious vibe. Anchored by a warm, buoyant groove and waves of finely tuned percussion, it's an evolving atmospheric storyboard which first captures your imagination. Delicate shades and tantalizing motifs just add to its enigmatic nature, before eventually melting down into a euphoric break, perfectly setting up a heartfelt finale. The companion piece ‘Aeris’ follows suit with warm bass swells, rolling rhythms and exotic percussion. Built around a series of melodic clusters and pixie-like fragments it’s quite mystical in nature. As it strips down into the main break you get what is perhaps one of the EPs most memorable moments; as airy refrains and a rising cinematic sphere continue to elevate the mood as the beats drop for a glorious sonic moment.

The first interpretation of ‘Epiphany In The Woods'’ is provided by Simply City who is making his label debut. Hailing from Chile but now based in Montreal, Cesar Romero aka Simply City has become a fixture in the city’s burgeoning nightlife, earning a spot as one of Stereo’s resident DJs. On the production front he lays claim to releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings. Now making his first appearance on Or Two Strangers he delivers a superb take on 'Epiphany In The Woods'. Incredibly rhythmic with fresh design qualities and soft, creamy melodies, it moves elegantly across it's ten minute running time. Immediately captivating as an array of shifty atmospherics and tranquil melodies create a redolent air. Warm, dreamy overlays soon follow and you’re effortlessly taken away into a melodic wonderland. Subtle yet powerful, it’s blissful theme plays off smooth chord changes and subtle modulation for a string of magic moments, making for an exhilarating third act finale.

The second and final interpretation of ‘Epiphany In The Woods’ is provided by Golan Zocher who also makes his label debut. Whether paired with sometime studio partner Kamilo Sanclemente or going solo, the Colombia born, Israel based artist always seems to find his tracks in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. It’s a trend that has found him amongst the progressive house elite and now leads him to Antrim's burgeoning Or Two Strangers imprint. Always a creative remixer, Golan provides a quirky yet powerful version which complements the previous two mixes wonderfully. The groove gets beefed up with punchy kicks and thick slabs of bass while a mountainous tonal theme begins to take shape. The rugged rhythmic qualities sit in stark contrast to the melodic elements from the original, eventually leading to a tranquil break before phasing noise reignites the groove for a powerful finale. A superb remix from Golan which rounds out an impressive EP from Sebastian Sellares, who continues to impress with his new moniker.

EANP - Live The Time

'Clubsonica Records begins the summer season by welcoming Julian Nates back to the label for a new EP. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the Colombian imprint in March of this year with ‘Wild Side’. Backed by remixes from fellow countrymen Analog Jungs and Fabri Lopez, the release achieved remarkable success, earning support from Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J. Also calling Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Antrim’s Or Two Strangers home, Julian now returns to Clubsonica with ‘The Last Call | Stardust’ alongside a remix from Rick Pier O’Neil.

Electrically charged with punchy kicks and rising rhythmic structures, it’s the energetic intensity of ‘The Last Call’ which gets the release underway. Elusive yet charming, its robust groove is inspired, mesmerizing with each successive loop as percussive details fill in the framework. Cinematic overlays advance the narrative into a tense break, highlighted by sizzling modulation and clustered drums, before a fiery crescendo summons an acid-fuelled finale. Taking the release into more emotive territory ‘Stardust’ entices both the heart and mind. Exceptional groove aesthetics make for a percussive, swing heavy jaunt, while vivid melodies and tranquil arps invite you further into this heartfelt beauty. Spanning over a minute in length, the main break melts down to a percussive rumble and meditative drawl, as a blanket of hopeful pads leads the way to a smooth rush and charming finale.

Making a welcome return to the label and providing the lone interpretation of ‘The Last Call’ is Rick Pier O’Neil. In addition to appearances on Beatfreak Recordings, Sudbeat Music and JOOF Recordings, the French artist has also found a comfortable home on Clubsonica, where he has released three singles and two remixes since making his label debut in February of 2017. Now following a single for Outta Limits, Rick returns to Clubsonica with an inspired rendition of ‘The Last Call’. Coming in tougher, darker and more techno inspired it sits as a wonderful complement to Julian’s glowing original. Devilishly hypnotic, the first act builds as elastic-like synths and phasing electronics saturate your senses. The main break pushes the narrative one notch further as waves of noise and panoramic designs sizzle, before a calculated build brings a rush of beats and drums inciting a tastefully twisted finale. A stunning remix from Rick which rounds out a welcome return to Clubsonica for both himself and Julian Nates.'
